Patch 12.1.5 went live on North American realms on Tuesday, October 13, and Blizzard opened a fresh entry on its living hotfix page the same day. Hotfixes: October 13, 2026 is not a class tuning wall like the ones we got in September. Every line in the new block sits under Dungeons and Raids: six Mythic+ dungeons get health and damage trims, and two Venomous Abyss encounters get Mythic-focused tuning.
None of it came out of nowhere. Blizzard's 12.1.5 launch announcement promised that when Keystone Myth returned it would "make targeted dungeon tuning adjustments to address difficulty outliers." Community Manager Linxy posted the full list on the official forums in Dungeon and Raid Tuning, October 13 at 5:43 PM CT on October 12, a day before it went live. Blizzard's hotfix article carries a timestamp of 7:43 PM CT on October 13.
This guide goes dungeon by dungeon and boss by boss with every number Blizzard published, then explains what it changes for key pushers chasing the 3600 Keystone Myth rating, for raid teams on Mythic, and for anyone gearing alts this week. Every number comes from Blizzard's list. Where Blizzard left a value out, I say so and do not guess.
Everything in the October 13 hotfix block
Here is the whole dungeon side at a glance, including the two Season 2 dungeons that were left alone.
The split is worth noticing before we get into details. Season 2 runs eight dungeons: five from Midnight (Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena and Den of Nalorakk) and three returning ones (Temple of Sethraliss, King's Rest and Ruby Life Pools). Our Season 2 Mythic+ dungeon guide has timers and the full rotation. Blizzard tuned six of the eight and left Den of Nalorakk and King's Rest exactly as they were. It is a fair guess that these six are the "difficulty outliers" Blizzard had in mind.
One note on how to read the list. Blizzard groups every change under the enemy that owns it. Some of those are bosses and some are trash packs, and Blizzard does not label which is which. The tables below keep Blizzard's names as written.
Altar of Fangs: the biggest package
Altar of Fangs is the new Season 2 dungeon and the only three-boss dungeon in the pool. It gets the longest list by far, which tracks with how much it has shown up in earlier hotfixes.
- Primal Serpent: Piercing Hiss damage reduced by 25% and its cooldown increased by 10%.
- Ravenous Descendant: health reduced by 9%.
- Twinfang Harrower: health reduced by 6%, Paralyzing Shot periodic damage reduced by 20%, and Paralyzing Shot now lasts 14 seconds (was 20 seconds).
- Ritual Chieftain: Blood Sacrifice healing absorb reduced by 12%.
- Rattling Writhe: health reduced by 6% and Rattle periodic damage reduced by 25%.
- High Evolutionist: Evolve has a more prominent visual effect during the channel. No number change.
- Bloodletter: health reduced by 5%.
- Ascendant Serpent: health reduced by 21%.
- Living Venom: health reduced by 25% and Venom Burst damage reduced by 50%.
- Rav'i: Carrion Burst periodic damage reduced by 10%.
- Zul'jan: Axegrinder periodic damage reduced by 15%.
What changes in your Altar keys
The Living Venom line is the one healers will feel first. Losing a quarter of its health and half of its Venom Burst damage at the same time means fewer bursts go off and each one hits softer. If your group was blowing defensives on Venom Burst timings, you can probably hold one back now.
Ascendant Serpent has now been cut twice this season. The August 21 hotfix took 10% off its health, and October 13 takes another 21%. Blizzard does not publish base health values, so I am not going to stack the two into one combined figure. The direction is obvious, though: the serpent pulls that were walling pugs should die noticeably faster.
Twinfang Harrower is another repeat target. August 21 cut Paralyzing Shot's initial damage by 50%. October 13 goes after the other half of the ability: periodic damage down 20% and the duration cut from 20 to 14 seconds. That is a big deal for dispel-light groups, because the debuff simply falls off sooner.
The High Evolutionist change is visual only, but it matters. A clearer Evolve channel is easier to spot and kick, and Evolve going off is usually what turns a clean pull into a wipe.
The boss changes are small. Rav'i's Carrion Burst periodic damage goes down 10% and Zul'jan's Axegrinder periodic damage goes down 15%. If you could already kill those bosses, these just give you more room on healer mana. They will not change how either fight plays.
Ruby Life Pools: one mechanic rewritten, one boss shrunk
Ruby Life Pools is the returning Dragonflight dungeon, and at 28 minutes it has the tightest timer in the pool in our Season 2 guide. Blizzard did not change any timers in this block, but Ruby Life Pools got the second-longest list.
- Earthbound Guardian: Earthbound's Imprint impact damage reduced by 21% and periodic damage reduced by 13%.
- Defier Draghar: health reduced by 27%, the biggest single health cut in the whole hotfix.
- Primalist Cinderweaver: Living Bomb can now be dispelled, and the explosion does not happen when it is dispelled.
- Storm Warrior: Thunderous Stomp damage reduced by 18%.
- High Channeler Ryvati: Tempest Stormshield now absorbs 15% of maximum health (was 20%).
- Melidrussa Chillworn: Infused Whelp's Cold Claws cooldown increased. Blizzard gives no number for this one.
- Kokia Blazehoof: Blazebound Firestorm health reduced by 12.5%, its Inferno impact damage reduced by 18%, and its periodic damage reduced by 14%.
Why the Living Bomb change matters most
Every other line in Ruby Life Pools is a percentage trim. Living Bomb is a rules change. Before this hotfix, the Cinderweaver's Living Bomb could not be dispelled, so the explosion was always coming. Now a dispel removes it and the explosion is skipped completely.
That puts the job on whoever can dispel in your group. Blizzard's note does not say which dispel type removes it, so test it on your first run and make sure your healer knows Living Bomb is now theirs. A mouseover dispel macro helps here. Groups with no dispel play the mechanic the same way they did before. They just take a little less from the August 25 trim that already lowered Living Bomb's periodic and explosion damage by 10%.
Draghar and Kokia
Defier Draghar losing 27% of his health is about time more than safety. The fight goes by faster, so you see fewer of his casts. Kokia Blazehoof's Blazebound Firestorm gets hit three ways (health, impact damage and periodic damage), which should make that add easier to kill and less punishing to stand near.
One forum reply on Blizzard's own tuning thread, from a player posting as Masq, argued that Ruby Life Pools "should get 2+ minutes" and that "no key should be sub 30m for their timer." Blizzard did not touch the 28-minute timer in this block. If you push Ruby Life Pools, the extra time has to come from shorter fights, not a longer clock.
The Blinding Vale: less splash damage and a weaker Ziekket buff
- Sporeblight Belcher: health reduced by 11%, Spouting Floret periodic damage reduced by 16%, Belch Sore damage reduced by 16%, and Belch Sore now fires 3 projectiles per tick (was 5).
- Radiant Spellsower: Light Bolt Volley damage reduced by 16%.
- Lightwarden Ruia: Lightfire periodic damage reduced by 15% and Pulverizing Strikes damage reduced by 12%.
- Ziekket: Lightspawn Lasher health reduced by 10%, Lightspore Shot damage reduced by 16%, Oozing Xylem damage reduced by 16%, and the Vicious Regrowth haste and damage buff drops to 20% (was 30%).
Ziekket's Vicious Regrowth going from 30% to 20% haste and damage is the other big one. If the buff got through, the fight used to snowball fast. A 20% version is still worth stopping, but missing it once is less likely to wipe the group.
Context from earlier in the season: the August 25 hotfix raised The Blinding Vale's enemy forces requirement to 686 (was 655) and cut down mob density in the last area. October 13 does not change the count again, so routes built on 686 still work.
Voidscar Arena: slower leaps and shorter auras
- Feral Saberon: Savage Leap cooldown increased by 25%.
- Chitigoth: Insidious Aura channel duration reduced to 8 seconds (was 10 seconds).
- Brutal Overseer: the damage increase per Brutal Slam drops to 8% (was 10%).
- Atroxus: Poison Splash periodic damage reduced by 11% and Toxic Aura periodic damage reduced by 20%.
- Charonus: Condensed Mass periodic damage reduced by 20%.
Brutal Overseer is a stacking ramp. Each Brutal Slam used to add 10% damage and now adds 8%. The ramp grows more slowly, so the later slams in a long pull hit softer than they did before the patch. Feral Saberon's 25% longer Savage Leap cooldown means fewer leaps on a long pull. Chitigoth's Insidious Aura losing two seconds of channel time shortens a window you had to play around.
Murder Row and Temple of Sethraliss: one change each
Murder Row gets a single line: Zaen Bladesorrow's Fire Bomb damage is reduced by 33%. That pairs with a separate 12.1.5 patch note fix covered in our 12.1.5 launch guide: Murder in a Row should no longer give you a safe spot behind a barrel you were not actually hiding behind. Between the bug fix and a third off Fire Bomb, Zaen should feel much fairer this week.
Temple of Sethraliss also gets one line: Static Anomaly's Spark Step damage is reduced by 25%. Static Anomaly has come up in hotfixes before. On August 19 Blizzard fixed Static Anomalies not counting toward enemy forces and adjusted the requirement to match. This time it is a straight damage cut. Routes do not change.
The Venomous Abyss: Mythic Sszorak and The Coiled Altar
Here is the raid half of the hotfix. Check the difficulty column carefully, because some of these lines apply only to Mythic and some apply to every difficulty.
Sszorak: five more seconds on Mythic
Sszorak's line looks like it was added after the original announcement. Early replies on Blizzard's forum thread complained that Sszorak was missing. One poster, SilentKiller, described Mythic as needing a "very awful" exact timing on popping Serpent's Fury after each wind phase. The forum post shows an edit at 1:39 PM CT on October 13, and TheClick.gg's breakdown describes the Sszorak entry as an October 13 addition. Either way, it is in Blizzard's official October 13 list now.
Five extra seconds before 100 rage on Mythic is a timing change, not a damage cut. Your raid gets more room around each rage cycle, so whatever you do right before 100 rage should be less of a frame-perfect call. Blizzard did not change Normal or Heroic Sszorak in this block.
The Coiled Altar: Phase 1 gets lighter on Mythic
The Coiled Altar is the penultimate Venomous Abyss boss, and on Mythic it drops the item level 344 loot band (per the loot table in our Venomous Abyss raid guide). The October 13 changes go after Phase 1 on Mythic:
- Toxic Deluge starts with 8 orbs (was 10).
- 4 Virulent Mutations (was 5) spawn in Phase 1.
- Dreadmarch targets 3 players (was 4).
The Manifestations of Dread changes apply to all difficulties, and they fix real frustrations. The red glow now shows to the fixated player the moment fixation starts. Manifestations despawn if their target dies instead of jumping to someone new. The angle for detecting and stunning them is 10 degrees wider. And Eternal Nightfall's cast is 2 seconds longer everywhere. For Normal and Heroic groups still learning the fight, these are the lines that matter.
What did not change in the raid
Ula'tek is not in the October 13 block. The last round of Ula'tek tuning landed on October 6 (Spectral Coils, Toxic Burn, Caustic Waves and the Stage 2 and 3 changes), and we covered that in our October 6 class tuning and Ula'tek nerfs guide. The new single-boss raid, The Unbinding of Kith'ix, also has no hotfix entries yet.
What this means for keys, raids and alts this week
Keystone Myth pushers
The Season 2 Keystone Myth achievement asks for a 3600 Mythic+ rating. Six dungeons just got easier and two did not. That changes which keys are worth pushing first. Den of Nalorakk and King's Rest are now relatively harder than they were on Monday, simply because everything around them got easier. If your score is uneven, start with the six tuned dungeons, where the same key level should go smoother, then save your best group nights for Den and King's Rest.
Your routes do not need rewriting. Blizzard did not change enemy forces counts or timers in this block. Lower health on trash like Ascendant Serpent, Living Venom and Sporeblight Belcher means the same route goes faster, not a different route.
Raid teams
Mythic teams stuck on The Coiled Altar get the most out of this hotfix: fewer orbs, fewer Mutations and one fewer Dreadmarch target in Phase 1, plus the Manifestation changes on every difficulty. Mythic teams on Sszorak get a more forgiving rage window. Heroic and Normal groups should notice the Manifestations of Dread changes and the longer Eternal Nightfall cast right away, even though the bigger number cuts are Mythic-only.
Alts gearing for Season 2
Gearing an alt got a bit cheaper too. Ascendant Venomstones, the mid-season power item from Orin, start dropping the week of October 20 from +10 and higher keys (among other sources). Our launch guide covers the quest chain you need to start now. Easier keys in six of eight dungeons mean an undergeared alt can join those +10s with less risk once Venomstones are live. If you are deciding between leveling a fresh alt for Season 2 keys or picking up a character that is already geared, a ready-made World of Warcraft account on AccountShark skips the catch-up grind.
What is not in this hotfix
People keep asking about the rest of 12.1.5, so here is the short version. The October 13 block has no entries for:
- Classes or specs. The 12.1.5 class changes live in the patch notes and our 12.1.5 class changes guide. The most recent in-season class hotfixes are dated October 6.
- PvP talents or rating.
- Delves or the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan.
- The Unbinding of Kith'ix.
- Aqir Invasions.
- Mists of Pandaria Classic, Burning Crusade Classic, Season of Discovery, Classic Era or Hardcore, even though the page header lists all of them.
Your login checklist
- Run one tuned dungeon you have been dodging, ideally Altar of Fangs or Ruby Life Pools, and feel the difference before you change your key plan.
- Tell your healer or dispeller that Living Bomb in Ruby Life Pools is now a dispel.
- Sort your Keystone Myth push: the six tuned dungeons first, Den of Nalorakk and King's Rest later.
- Mythic raiders: rewatch your Coiled Altar Phase 1 assignments with 8 orbs, 4 Mutations and 3 Dreadmarch targets.
- Check that Orin's quest from the launch guide is done so Venomstones are ready the week of October 20.
Frequently Asked Questions
What did the WoW October 13 hotfixes change?
The October 13, 2026 block is all dungeon and raid tuning. Six Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons (Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Ruby Life Pools, Temple of Sethraliss, The Blinding Vale and Voidscar Arena) got health and damage reductions. The Venomous Abyss got Mythic Sszorak and Coiled Altar tuning, plus Coiled Altar changes on every difficulty.
Which Mythic+ dungeons were not nerfed on October 13?
Den of Nalorakk and King's Rest have no entries in the October 13 list. They are the only two Season 2 dungeons Blizzard left out.
What is the biggest change in the October 13 dungeon tuning?
By raw number, Defier Draghar's 27% health cut in Ruby Life Pools. In terms of how you play, Primalist Cinderweaver's Living Bomb is the biggest: it can now be dispelled, and the explosion does not happen when it is.
Did Blizzard change Mythic+ timers or enemy forces in this hotfix?
No. The October 13 list changes enemy health, ability damage, cooldowns, durations and one visual. It does not list any timer or enemy forces changes, so your existing routes still work.
What changed for Mythic Sszorak?
Sszorak now takes 5 seconds longer to reach 100 rage on Mythic difficulty. Blizzard did not change Normal or Heroic Sszorak in this block.
What changed on The Coiled Altar?
On Mythic, Toxic Deluge starts with 8 orbs (was 10), 4 Virulent Mutations spawn in Phase 1 (was 5), and Dreadmarch targets 3 players (was 4). On all difficulties, Manifestations of Dread show their fixate glow right away, despawn if their target dies, and get a 10 degree wider detect and stun angle, and Eternal Nightfall casts 2 seconds slower. The Virulent Mutation and Mutagenic Venom radius drops to 6 yards (was 8), but Blizzard did not say which difficulty that applies to.
Were there any class or PvP hotfixes on October 13?
No. The October 13 block has no class, PvP, Delve, Labyrinth, Kith'ix or Aqir Invasion entries. The most recent in-season class and PvP hotfixes on Blizzard's page are dated October 6.
When did the October 13 hotfixes go live in Europe?
North American realms got them with the 12.1.5 launch on October 13. EU realms got the same tuning with their October 14 maintenance, according to TheClick.gg's report on Blizzard's EU community announcement.
Has Blizzard added October 14 hotfixes yet?
Not as of about 2 PM CT on October 14, 2026. The newest section on Blizzard's living hotfix page is still October 13. Blizzard adds new dated sections to the same page as fixes go in, so check it again later this week.
