Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies AccountShark (“we,” “us,” “our”) places on your device, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads — that you're signed in, what's in your cart, or that you already accepted a notice — without having to ask you again on every page.
Cookies we use
We keep our cookie use minimal. We do not use advertising cookies and do not run cross-site advertising trackers.
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the site to work. They cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality.
- next-auth.session-token / __Secure-next-auth.session-token — keeps you signed in after you authenticate with Discord, Google, or Apple. Session-scoped, set by our authentication system. Required on any page where you're logged in.
- cookie-consent — records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we don't prompt you again every visit. One year, set by us.
- as_aff — records the affiliate or partner code attached to your visit (for example, when you arrive from a partner link with
?ref=…). Used to credit referrals correctly when you place an order. 30 days, set by our middleware.
Analytics (only if you accept)
These cookies help us understand which pages people use and how the site performs. They are only set after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, these never load.
- Google Analytics 4 (cookies including
_ga,_ga_*) — measures aggregated, anonymized traffic patterns. Up to two years, set by Google. We do not share this data with advertisers and we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising features.
Third-party cookies
Some pages embed content or services from third parties (for example, payment forms loaded from Stripe on checkout, or Google Analytics if you accepted). Those parties may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We don't control them. If you want details, review the relevant provider's policy:
Managing your preferences
You can change or revoke your choice at any time:
- Use the cookie banner. If you previously accepted, clearing the
cookie-consentcookie in your browser will make the banner reappear so you can change your answer. - Use your browser settings. Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site. See the instructions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and may break checkout or affiliate attribution.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no universal standard for how sites should respond, so we treat our consent banner as the source of truth. If you reject the banner, no analytics cookies are set, regardless of DNT.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our cookie use changes or when laws require it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
