WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ — Quick Answer
Mythic+ opens: Week of August 18, 2026
Dungeon pool: 8 dungeons
New dungeon: Altar of Fangs
Keystone Master: 2,000 rating — Breath of Blight
Keystone Legend: 3,000 rating — Breath of Ruin
Dungeon portals: Time each dungeon at +10 or higher
Top end-of-run gear: Item level 311 at +10 and above
Top Great Vault gear: Item level 318 at +10 and above

WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ begins during the week of August 18, 2026 with eight dungeons. The pool contains five Midnight dungeons—including the new three-boss Altar of Fangs—and three returning dungeons from Battle for Azeroth and Dragonflight. The headline rewards are Breath of Blight at 2,000 rating, Breath of Ruin at 3,000, eight individual portals from timed +10s, and the Venomous Hero title for a top 0.1% regional finish.

Source status: Verified August 10, 2026 against Blizzard's Season 2 announcement, Wowhead's Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ overview, and the Season 2 Mythic+ rewards guide. Live hotfixes can still change tuning, timers, or item levels after launch; named rewards and unlock dates below are the latest published values.

When Does Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Start?

The launch is split across two resets:

Week ofDungeon content
August 11Season 2 Heroic and Mythic 0 dungeon rotation; M0 resets weekly and drops item level 292
August 18Mythic+ Season 2 opens; Mythic 0 switches to a daily reset and continues dropping item level 292

This creates a real preparation week. Players can learn the new pool and collect baseline 292 gear before timed keystones become available. Credit toward Season 2 Great Vault rewards begins during the August 11 week, but the first Season 2 Vault gear is available after the August 18 reset cycle.

The Mythic 0 reset change is the detail most players miss
M0 resets weekly during the August 11 week and switches to a daily reset on August 18. The item level does not change — 292 either way — but the farmability does. If you need a specific 292 piece, the week before the season is the slow window and the week after is the fast one.

Timers came from the August 9 PTR-backed guide and remain tuning-sensitive. Route planning should use the live timer shown on the keystone once the season opens.

The five Midnight dungeons

Altar of Fangs
New in Season 230:003 bosses
The season's new dungeon and the only three-boss entry in the pool. A shorter boss list on a 30-minute timer shifts the balance of the run toward trash: with one fewer boss to bank progress against, Enemy Forces routing and pull sizing carry more of the timer than they do in a four- or five-boss dungeon. It is also the dungeon nobody has legacy routes for, which is worth a preparation-week visit during the August 11 Heroic and Mythic 0 window. Altar of Fangs on Wowhead.
Murder Row
Midnight34:00Longest timer
At 34 minutes, Murder Row carries the most generous timer in the pool — six minutes more than Ruby Life Pools. A long timer is not the same as an easy dungeon; it usually signals a longer route, more Enemy Forces to gather, or more forced downtime. Treat the extra minutes as budget the dungeon expects you to spend, not as slack. Murder Row on Wowhead.
Den of Nalorakk
Midnight32:00
A mid-length Midnight dungeon at 32 minutes. Season 2's tooltip change — enemies now display their contribution to the Enemy Forces count — is most useful in dungeons like this one, where several trash camps look interchangeable but are not worth the same percentage. Den of Nalorakk on Wowhead.
The Blinding Vale
Midnight31:00
A 31-minute Midnight dungeon sitting in the tight half of the pool. Dungeons on the short end of the timer range are where the season's higher creature health is felt first — the same pull takes longer to kill without the timer growing to match. The Blinding Vale on Wowhead.
Voidscar Arena
Midnight30:00Tied shortest
Tied with Altar of Fangs for the shortest timer in the season at 30 minutes. Short-timer dungeons reward groups that have their route memorised and punish exploratory pulls more sharply than the 33- and 34-minute entries. Voidscar Arena on Wowhead.

The three returning dungeons

King's Rest
Battle for Azeroth33:00Returning
A Battle for Azeroth dungeon returning to the keystone rotation on a 33-minute timer. Blizzard has stated that several returning dungeons were adapted to modern interrupt, checkpoint, and pacing expectations, so a remembered BfA route is a starting point rather than a finished plan. King's Rest on Wowhead.
Temple of Sethraliss
Battle for Azeroth33:00Returning
The second Battle for Azeroth entry, also on 33 minutes, and thematically at home in a snake-and-venom season. As with King's Rest, checkpoint and pacing revisions mean the live keystone timer and the live Enemy Forces tooltips are the authority, not an old route guide. Temple of Sethraliss on Wowhead.
Ruby Life Pools
Dragonflight28:00Shortest timer
The shortest dungeon in the season at 28 minutes, and the only Dragonflight entry. A 28-minute timer makes Ruby Life Pools the pool's most attractive key for a fast weekly Vault slot — and the least forgiving of a single bad pull, because there is no spare time built into the run. Ruby Life Pools on Wowhead.

What Changed in Mythic+ for Season 2?

Blizzard's stated design goal is to make dangerous casts, target priority, and damage checks more readable without placing every failure on tanks and healers.

Clearer telegraphs
Cone and line attacks use clearer precast visuals, following the updated swirly telegraphs introduced previously.
More creature health
Enemies are tougher, shifting pressure toward coordinated target priority and group damage rather than tank and healer throughput alone.
Enemy Forces in tooltips
Enemy tooltips now show each mob's contribution to the Enemy Forces count, so tanks can build routes without memorising external percentage tables.
Reworked pain points
Dungeon-specific problems were revised, including shorter roleplay events and changed boss mechanics.
Modernised returning dungeons
Several returning dungeons were adapted to current interrupt, checkpoint, and pacing expectations for Mythic+.

These changes do not make Season 2 automatically easier. More enemy health means weak target selection and missed priority damage are punished for longer, while the clearer telegraphs make deaths more preventable.

How Do Mythic+ Affixes Work in Midnight Season 2?

+2 Lindormi's Guidance becomes active
The onboarding affix. Selected enemies are highlighted with Temporal Sands, their health and damage drop by 5%, and the normal death-time penalty is removed.
+5 A rotating Xal'atath's Bargain becomes active
One of four Bargains rotates in each week. Handle its condition and the party gains a stat buff; fail it and enemies are empowered instead.
+6 Lindormi's Guidance is removed
The 5% weakening and the death-penalty exemption both end. Tanks who still want the visual routing help can ask Lindormi for Lindormi's Glow, which highlights enemies without reducing their power.
+7 Fortified or Tyrannical becomes active
Alternating weekly. Fortified adds 20% health and damage to non-boss enemies; Tyrannical adds 25% boss health and 15% boss damage.
+10 Fortified and Tyrannical are both active
The gear ceiling key. Both affixes run at once from here upward, and this is where end-of-run and Great Vault item levels reach their published maximum.
+12 Xal'atath's Bargain becomes Xal'atath's Guile
Every player death removes 15 seconds from the timer until the last minute. The Bargain buffs are gone, and there is no additional gear tier — this range is for score, resilient keystones, and competition.

Lindormi's Guidance at +2 to +5

Guidance highlights selected enemies with Temporal Sands, reduces their health and damage by 5%, and removes the normal death-time penalty. It is an onboarding affix: it helps newer tanks see a viable route and makes lower keys less punishing.

At +6, the weakening effect disappears. Tanks who still want visual routing help can speak with Lindormi for Lindormi's Glow, which highlights enemies without reducing their power.

Xal'atath's Bargains at +5 to +11

One Bargain rotates each week. Success gives the party a temporary benefit; failure empowers enemies.

Bargain: Ascendant
Interrupt or crowd-control 10 Orbs of Ascendance. Success grants the party Haste and movement speed.
Bargain: Voidbound
Break and kill the Void Emissary before Dark Prayer resolves. Success grants Versatility and faster ability cooldowns.
Bargain: Pulsar
Intercept the orbs tethered to other players. Success grants Mastery and Leech.
Bargain: Devour
Remove each Devouring Rift with healing or any valid dispel. Success grants Critical Strike and maximum health.

The Devour shield is not a conventional healing absorb: healing contributes to removing it while also restoring missing health.

Fortified, Tyrannical, and Xal'atath's Guile

At +7, Fortified or Tyrannical alternates weekly. Fortified increases non-boss enemy health and damage by 20%; Tyrannical increases boss health by 25% and boss damage by 15%. Both are active at +10.

At +12, Bargain is replaced by Xal'atath's Guile. Player deaths remove 15 seconds from the timer until the last minute. Because end-of-run and Vault gear cap earlier, +12 and higher are primarily for score, resilient keystones, achievements, and push competition.

Why +12 feels like a different game: Below +12, a death costs you the run-back and a Bargain opportunity. From +12, it also costs 15 seconds off the clock, and the party buff that used to compensate for a hard week is gone entirely. That is the point where a group's death count, not its damage, decides whether keys get timed.

What Item Level Does Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Drop?

+11311 — Hero 3/6Myth Mistcrest318 — Myth 1/6
+12 or higher311 — Hero 3/6Myth Mistcrest318 — Myth 1/6

For pure gearing efficiency, +10 is the major target: it reaches the published cap for both end-of-run and Great Vault item levels. A +12 is mechanically different and better for score-oriented players, but it does not increase the listed gear level beyond +10.

The four breakpoints that actually change your rewards

+4 First Hero Mistcrests
Crests upgrade from Champion to Hero here, two key levels before the gear itself reaches the Hero track.
+6 First Hero-track end-of-run loot
End-of-run gear reaches 305, Hero 1/6 — the first point where a dungeon drops something on the same track as Heroic raid gear.
+9 First Myth Mistcrests
The crest tier reaches Myth one level before the Vault item level does. A +9 is worth running specifically for upgrade currency.
+10 Everything caps
End-of-run 311 and Vault 318, the published maximum for both. Every key above this level pays the same gear and the same crests.
Crest quantities: The crest type by key level is published, but Wowhead still marks exact Mistcrest quantities as unconfirmed. The article therefore does not invent a per-run number.

How Many Mythic+ Runs Fill the Great Vault?

The Mythic+ row uses your completed dungeons for the week. The three choices unlock as you complete more eligible runs, with the highest quantity target at eight Mythic+ dungeons. Each option is based on the qualifying key levels among those completions rather than simply copying your single highest run into every slot.

The practical weekly approaches are:

One strong option
Complete at least one key at the highest level you can reliably finish. Minimum time, single Vault choice.
More choice
Complete additional keys to unlock the second and third dungeon slots — three chances at a useful slot instead of one.
Maximum published item level
Include +10 or higher completions so the Vault options are eligible for item level 318, Myth 1/6.

What Are the Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Rating Rewards?

Breath of Blight and Breath of Ruin are separate mounts at separate thresholds. Earning 3,000 naturally crosses the 2,000 milestone too, but a 2,000-rating completion should never be described as including Breath of Ruin.

Rating milestones vs ladder placement: Keystone Conqueror, Master, Hero, Legend, and Myth are fixed numbers you can plan for. Venomous Champion and Venomous Hero are regional percentages calculated at season end — no fixed rating guarantees either one, because the cutoff moves with the ladder.

How Do You Unlock Every Season 2 Dungeon Portal?

Each dungeon has its own portal achievement. Complete that specific dungeon at Mythic +10 or higher within the time limit to unlock its teleport. Rating alone does not award all eight portals: a player can reach a score milestone while still missing an individual timed dungeon.

To finish the portal set, track all eight separately:

  • Altar of Fangs
  • Murder Row
  • Den of Nalorakk
  • The Blinding Vale
  • Voidscar Arena
  • King's Rest
  • Temple of Sethraliss
  • Ruby Life Pools
Portals are per-dungeon, rating is aggregate
It is entirely possible to hold 2,500 rating and own five portals. Score rewards your best runs across the pool; portals require a timed +10 in each specific dungeon. If the portal set is the goal, deliberately queue the dungeons you avoid.

What Are Resilient Keystones in Season 2?

Time all eight dungeons at +12 to earn Midnight Season 2: Resilient Keystone 12. Once earned, a failed key no longer depletes below +12. The system continues upward: timing every dungeon at +13 establishes a +13 floor, and so on. You can still lower a key intentionally by speaking with Lindormi.

Resilient Keystone progress rewards pool mastery, not raw rating. You must complete every dungeon at the relevant level and within time.

How to Prepare for Midnight Season 2 Mythic+

  • Run the Season 2 Heroic and Mythic 0 pool during the August 11 preparation week.
  • Learn all eight timers, entrances, checkpoints, and high-priority interrupts before keys open.
  • Build a route for Enemy Forces rather than assuming a Season 1 route or old expansion route still works.
  • Target +6 for the first Hero-track end-of-run loot, +9 for Myth Mistcrests, and +10 for the highest published Vault tier.
  • Track rating rewards and dungeon portals separately; score does not substitute for a missing timed +10.
  • Push +12 only when the group is ready for Guile's death penalty and no longer needs Bargain buffs.
