VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai closed the group stage on October 4. LOUD beat Global Esports 2-0 — Split 13-8, Sunset 13-9 — locking Group B’s second playoff ticket and ending GE’s first Champions run. Later the same day, T1 beat FUT Esports 2-0 — Sunset 13-10, Ascent 13-10 — booking Group A’s second berth and securing T1’s first Champions playoff appearance.
This Day 10 guide locks both finished deciders from TalkEsport’s LOUD–GE write-up, the consensus T1–FUT scoreline reported across Sheep Esports, Strafe, and rib.gg, and the opening playoff bracket published by Hotspawn. The eight is complete. Playoffs open October 7.
Catch-up reading if you missed the earlier days: Day 9 deciders (Oct 3) — G2 2-0 Liquid, NS 2-1 KC, Day 8 eliminations (Oct 2) — GE 2-0 EDG, T1 2-1 JDG, Day 7 eliminations (Oct 1) — Liquid 2-1 TYLOO, NS 2-0 XLG, Day 6 winners (Sept 30) — Vitality 2-0 LOUD, 100T 2-0 FUT, Day 5 winners (Sept 29) — PRX 2-1 G2, NRG 2-1 KC, plus the Group A and Group B openers.
How a Champions decider day works
Champions Shanghai uses a classic GSL double-elimination group. By Day 10, every group already had its upper-bracket playoff team locked:
- Group A: 100 Thieves locked; FUT waited for T1 in today’s decider.
- Group B: Vitality locked; LOUD waited for Global Esports in today’s decider.
- Group C: Paper Rex and G2 locked (G2 beat Liquid on Day 9).
- Group D: NRG and Nongshim RedForce locked (NS beat KC on Day 9).
Group B decider: LOUD 2-0 Global Esports — FINAL
Series scoreboard
Series: LOUD 2-0 Global Esports. Aggregate rounds: LOUD 26, GE 17.
Rosters (TalkEsport)
- LOUD: lukxo, DaviH, Darker, erde, tkzin
- Global Esports: PatMen, UdoTan, Kr1stal, xavi8k, Autumn
Split: GE led 8-5, then LOUD won the last eight
Global Esports had the better opening. Per TalkEsport, GE were up 8-5 on Split and five rounds from going 1-0 up in a must-win Champions decider.
They never got to nine. LOUD won eight rounds in a row to close the map 13-8. That swing is the entire story of Group B’s second berth: GE looked like the better side for most of a half, then the Brazilian roster flipped the economy and never let the scoreboard breathe again. In a decider, an 8-5 lead that turns into a 13-8 loss is usually series-defining. Here it was.
Sunset: LOUD open 7-0 and book playoffs
LOUD carried that momentum straight into Sunset and won the first seven rounds. GE took nine of the next fifteen, which made the final line look more respectable than the early hole felt, but a 7-0 start against a roster with LOUD’s international experience is almost never recoverable in a Champions decider.
LOUD closed Sunset 13-9. The sting for Global Esports is sharper because Sunset was one of the two maps they used to sweep EDward Gaming two days earlier on Day 8. The map that saved their tournament against the 2024 world champions became the map that ended it against LOUD.
erde leads LOUD with 46 kills
Roberto “erde” Lobos was the standout name on the server. TalkEsport’s box score flags the LOUD in-game leader with a series-high 46 kills and a 1.56 rating across 43 rounds — roughly 1.07 kills per round while also running the calls. Full per-player numbers sit on the VLR Champions 2026 event pages; the series narrative does not need more than that number to explain why LOUD’s mid-round stabilizations kept sticking.
How both teams reached the decider
LOUD opened Champions with a 2-0 over EDG, then lost the Group B winners match 0-2 to Team Vitality — including a brutal overtime 19-17 on Summit in that series. The decider against GE was the only path left into the October 7 bracket. Their group path in short:
- Opening: 2-0 EDG
- Winners: 0-2 Vitality
- Decider: 2-0 Global Esports
- Opening: 1-2 Vitality
- Elimination: 2-0 EDG (Day 8)
- Decider: 0-2 LOUD → finish 9–12
What this series means for both sides
For LOUD, Day 10 is a Champions playoff return for an organization that won the title in Istanbul in 2022 with a different roster. The 2026 group stage was bumpy — EDG looked clean, Vitality looked like a wall — but the GE close without needing a third map puts four Americas teams into the top eight: LOUD, 100 Thieves, NRG, and G2.
For Global Esports, the exit ends a breakthrough international year one series short of the playoffs. Pacific Stage 2 champions still leave Shanghai with a statement win over EDG and a hard lesson about converting mid-map leads against Americas veterans. China already had zero teams left after the group stage; Pacific drops from four group entrants to three playoff teams with GE gone.
Group A decider: T1 2-0 FUT Esports — FINAL
Series scoreboard
Series: T1 2-0 FUT Esports. Aggregate rounds: T1 26, FUT 20.
Both maps finished 13-10. That is a different kind of decider story from LOUD’s Split swing: T1 never needed an eight-round run or a 7-0 hole. They just won the close halves twice and closed without a third map. Consensus reporting from Sheep Esports, Strafe, and rib.gg matches that line; Hotspawn’s playoff draw write-up treats T1 as the locked Group A #2 seed afterwards.
How both teams reached the decider
T1 opened Group A with an 0-2 loss to 100 Thieves, then survived the Day 8 elimination against JD Gaming (2-1). The FUT series was the last door into their first Champions playoff berth. Path:
- Opening: 0-2 100 Thieves
- Elimination: 2-1 JDG
- Decider: 2-0 FUT
- Opening: 2-0 JDG
- Winners: 0-2 100 Thieves
- Decider: 0-2 T1
What this series means for both sides
For T1, Day 10 is history: first Champions playoff appearance. They join Paper Rex and Nongshim RedForce as Pacific’s playoff trio after Global Esports’ exit. Drawing NRG in the opening playoff round (Hotspawn) is a brutal first test — NRG are the defending Champions looking for a first-ever back-to-back title — but the Pacific storyline into Shanghai’s second week now has three live tickets instead of two.
For FUT, the exit ends a strong group opening that never recovered from the 100 Thieves winners-match wipe. Two maps against T1 stayed within three rounds; neither flipped. EMEA leaves Shanghai with only Team Vitality still alive.

Opening playoff bracket (Hotspawn, Oct 4)
With the group stage complete, Hotspawn published the first-round draw:
- 100 Thieves (A1) vs G2 Esports (C2)
- Team Vitality (B1) vs Nongshim RedForce (D2)
- NRG (D1) vs T1 (A2)
- Paper Rex (C1) vs LOUD (B2)
How the draw worked
Riot split the eight into two pools — group winners (seed 1) and runners-up (seed 2). Seed 1 teams were drawn in random order into the bracket, then each faced a randomly drawn seed 2. Teams from the same group cannot sit on the same side of the bracket; regional matchups are allowed. That is why 100 Thieves vs G2 is a legal all-Americas first-rounder while Vitality carry EMEA alone against Pacific’s NS.
Storylines into October 7
- Americas 4/4: 100 Thieves, NRG, G2, and LOUD all advanced. The only all-Americas opening bout is 100T vs G2.
- Pacific 3/4: Paper Rex, Nongshim, and T1 remain after GE’s exit. Pacific is still the only major region without a Champions title.
- EMEA 1/4: Only Vitality survived. Their opening draw against Nongshim is Europe’s entire Champions hope in one Bo3 lane.
- China 0/4: Every host-region team exited in groups. The Day 8 wipe of EDG and JDG already sealed that headline; Day 10 did not reopen it.
- NRG can chase a first-ever back-to-back Champions title. Their first obstacle is freshly playoff-qualified T1.
- PRX vs LOUD stacks a Pacific group winner against an Americas lower-path team that just closed GE without a third map.
Regional ledger after the group stage
| Region | Playoff teams | Record into playoffs | | --- | --- | --- | | Americas | 100 Thieves, NRG, G2, LOUD | 4/4 | | Pacific | Paper Rex, Nongshim RedForce, T1 | 3/4 (GE out) | | EMEA | Team Vitality | 1/4 | | China | — | 0/4 |
That ledger is the cleanest way to read Shanghai’s first week. Americas converted every ticket. Pacific converted three of four. EMEA’s depth never showed up past Vitality. China hosted and left early.
What Day 10 changes about the playoff conversation
LOUD’s 2-0 is the Americas lower-path close that scouts have to respect into a PRX first round. They did not need a third map. They stole a map GE led 8-5, then opened Sunset 7-0. That is a different look from the overtime Summit loss to Vitality earlier in the group.
T1’s 2-0 is quieter on the scoreboard and louder on the calendar. Two 13-10 maps do not look like a demolition. They look like a team that stopped leaking late rounds after the 100 Thieves opener and the JDG scare. Drawing NRG first is the hardest possible reward for that climb — and the clearest measuring stick Pacific has left for whether T1’s first Champions playoff berth is a story or a threat.
If you are tracking the full group-stage arc, Day 9 already locked G2 and Nongshim. Day 10 finished the eight and handed Riot the seed pools for the draw Hotspawn published the same day.
Score discipline note
Every finished score in this article was locked against TalkEsport’s LOUD–GE recap (Split 13-8, Sunset 13-9, erde 46 / 1.56), the Sheep Esports / Strafe / rib.gg consensus on T1–FUT (Sunset 13-10, Ascent 13-10), and Hotspawn’s October 4 playoff-draw report for the opening bracket, venues, format, and prize pool. Map veto sequences for Day 10 were not published in those same-day sources in enough detail to reprint here, so this guide does not invent them. Both Day 10 deciders are final.
