Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 5: Treasure Hunters are a new roster of pirate-themed companions, each giving you a passive ability for the match. There are 13 known Sprite families and 35 entries once every Fortune and Cursed finish is counted, but as of November 1 only 22 entries are obtainable: every Cursed finish and all three Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. entries are still in the files, not the game. Sprite Chests are back, Wanted Posters turn into Sprite Treasure Maps, and red ruby Sprite Chests guarantee a Fortune variant. Re-Pete and Chester are the strongest everyday picks, Wayfinder and Exmarks are the best for collecting, and Plundarrgh and Sweet Dreams are the two Mythics.
This guide covers all thirteen known Treasure Hunters Sprites with their abilities and rarities, including the A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and One Piece Sprites, plus how Sprite Treasure Maps work, what the Fortune and Cursed finishes do, what each Captain's Day is expected to add, and what happened to your Season 4 collection.

What are Sprites in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?
A Sprite is a companion that follows you and applies a passive ability while it is equipped. Sprites level up during a match, and every ability gets stronger with level, so a Sprite you have carried all game is much stronger than one you picked up in the final circle.
Treasure Hunters brings in a new roster again. None of Override's twenty-seven Sprites are in the launch pool. The new ones are pirate characters: a treasure chest with an eyepatch, a parrot, a barrel of fish, a living treasure map, and a skull. The season's collaborations each get one too: Lil' Flacko for A$AP Rocky, Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. for Lil Uzi Vert, and Transponder Snail for One Piece.
The four rarity tiers are unchanged: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. On the datamined tiers Treasure Hunters has four Rares, four Epics, three Legendaries, and two Mythics.
How to get Sprites in Treasure Hunters
Sprite Chests are back. Override's Cheat Code Chests and Lobby Hack codes are gone, and the season's treasure-hunting theme drives the whole loop:
- Find a Wanted Poster. They hang on walls around the island. Exmarks reveals them for you.
- Tear it down. The poster turns into a Sprite Treasure Map.
- Follow the map to a nearby buried Sprite Chest and dig it up with your pickaxe.
- Open it for a guaranteed Sprite. Which Sprite you get is random.
- Extract with a Portable Extractor or at an Extraction Site to add it to your collection permanently.
Rare Sprites
Four Rares. Each one has a Base and a Fortune finish you can catch now, plus a Cursed finish that is in the files but not live yet.
Epic Sprites
Four Epics. Chester and Exmarks are the two everyone will want first, because they make every other part of the season faster.
Legendary Sprites
Three Legendaries, and two of them are collaboration Sprites. Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. is not obtainable yet, and Transponder Snail has no variant finishes.
Mythic Sprites
Two Mythics, one for loot and one for speed. Plundarrgh has a Fortune finish now and a Cursed finish in the files; Sweet Dreams is Base only.
Sprite finishes: Fortune and Cursed
Every Treasure Hunters Sprite has a Base look, and eleven of the thirteen have two finishes in the game files. Both keep the base ability and add an effect of their own, but only Fortune is live:
- Fortune is a red, cut-ruby version of the Sprite. On top of the normal ability it reveals nearby chests, including Sprite Chests. Red ruby Sprite Chests guarantee one. (Fortnite.GG's internal name for the finish is jeweled.)
- Cursed is a tarnished, oily-bronze version with glowing eyes, and it is not obtainable yet. Fortnite.GG marks every Cursed entry as unreleased, and launch-day coverage agrees Cursed was not enabled at launch. Going by its description in the files, it raises your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you while it is equipped. That would work against Barry O'Fish and Kelper, which both rely on being in water.
For now Fortune is the only finish you can catch, and it is useful in every match: more visible chests means more loot and more Sprite Chests. Once Cursed goes live, its description points to completionists hunting variants. We will judge it properly when it can be tested in game.
Captain's Days: what is coming
Treasure Hunters adds new content on Captain's Days. Each one brings in a new captain along with new weapons, Sprites, and more. Epic has confirmed November 7, 12, 14, and 21 after the November 1 launch, but it has not said what arrives on each day. This is what has been reported so far:
| Date | What is expected | Status |
|---|---|---|
| November 1 | Launch: 12 obtainable Sprite families (Base and Fortune), Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky as the first captains | Live |
| November 7 | Next Captain's Day. Some trackers expect Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. here | Expected |
| November 12 | Lil Uzi Vert's Item Shop date; Gold Sprites in some reports | Expected |
| November 14 | Cap'n Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto; Gold Sprites in other reports | Expected |
| November 21 | Final Captain's Day; no captain announced | Expected |
| Week 4 | An Oscar Sprite has been reported for week four | Unconfirmed |
The Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto week is the most likely place for new Sprites. Insider Gaming reported a Pirate Miku Sprite and a Kasane Teto Sprite, and Epic's own account replied to both singers with treasure-map emojis. None of these are on our checklist yet, because we only add a Sprite once its artwork is available.
What about drop rates?
Epic has not published a drop rate table for Treasure Hunters, and on launch day Fortnite.GG currently displays 0% Sprite Chest chances and blank locations, which should not be treated as a measured drop rate. Anyone giving you exact percentages right now is guessing.
Here is what is confirmed. Sprite Chests and buried Sprite Chests always contain a Sprite, while ordinary chests only sometimes do. Ruby Sprite Chests always give a Fortune finish. Once Cursed Sprites go live, their description says they improve your odds of rare variants. Opening more chests matters more than where you land, which is why Wayfinder and Exmarks are worth equipping early.
We will replace this section with real numbers once a reliable tracker publishes them.
Sprite Mastery, Dust, and weekly events
- Sprite Mastery returns under the Treasure tab in the lobby, with a new page unlocking each week and Gizmos along the way. Mastering 40 Sprites unlocks the Navigator's Nosedive Umbrella.
- Mastery Monday is back, with double Sprite XP and double Sprite Dust every Monday.
- Treasure Hours Sundays run alongside it through the mini-season.
- Sprite Dust and Gizmos. When Season 3 ended, both balances reset, and our Final Spritemare guide advised spending them before November 1 in case it happened again. Epic has not posted a statement about carry-over for Treasure Hunters, so check your balance in the lobby rather than relying on any guide, including this one.
What happened to your Season 4 Sprites
Override's Sprites are not in the Treasure Hunters loot pool, so you cannot find or equip them in matches right now. Nothing you caught has been deleted. When Season 3 ended, its Sprites stayed in the Sprite Collection and Sprite Garden, and the Season 4 roster follows the same rule. Your Season 4 history also stays on our Fortnite Sprite checklist, which keeps every season in one grid.
One leak suggests Sprites as a system stay until Chapter 8 rather than ending with this mini-season. Epic has not announced it, so treat it as a rumour.
Best Sprites in Treasure Hunters

Frequently asked questions
How many Sprites are in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 5? Treasure Hunters has 13 known Sprite families: Halfpeel'd, Re-Pete, Barry O'Fish, Wayfinder, Chester, Exmarks, Kelper, Lil' Squibbly, Lil' Flacko, Lil' Uzi Vert Jr., Transponder Snail, Sweet Dreams, and Plundarrgh. Eleven of them have Fortune and Cursed finishes, so 35 entries are listed. As of November 1, 22 entries are obtainable and 13 are marked Soon: every Cursed finish and all three Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. entries. Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. is expected with Lil Uzi Vert's week, and more Sprites are expected on later Captain's Days.
How do you get Sprites in Fortnite Treasure Hunters? Open Sprite Chests, which always contain a Sprite. Tear down a Wanted Poster to get a Sprite Treasure Map, follow it to a buried Sprite Chest, and dig it up with your pickaxe. Sprite Chests also spawn in the open, and red ruby ones guarantee a Fortune variant. Sprites also drop from ordinary chests at a low rate, from NPC bosses, and from eliminated players who had one equipped. Extract to keep a Sprite permanently.
What do Fortune and Cursed Sprites do in Fortnite? Both keep the Sprite's normal ability. Fortune Sprites also reveal nearby chests, including Sprite Chests, and red ruby Sprite Chests guarantee one. Cursed Sprites are not obtainable yet; their description in the game files says they raise your chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but water damages you while one is equipped. Each finish is a separate catch on the checklist.
What is the best Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters? Re-Pete for general play, because faster reloads and a chance to refund ammo help in every fight. Chester is the best looting Sprite, Wayfinder is the best for collecting, Lil' Flacko suits aggressive players, and Sweet Dreams is the strongest of the two Mythics if you pick it up early.
What are the Mythic Sprites in Treasure Hunters? Sweet Dreams and Plundarrgh. Sweet Dreams gives a random item every time it levels and Mythic loot at max level, and it has no Fortune or Cursed finish. Plundarrgh boosts your pickaxe and movement speed every time you open a chest, and it comes in Base and Fortune, with a Cursed finish in the files that is not live yet.
Which Sprites are the A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and One Piece Sprites? Lil' Flacko is A$AP Rocky's Sprite and knocks enemies back when you land. Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. is Lil Uzi Vert's and creates a Chug Splash when you restore shields. Transponder Snail is the One Piece Sprite, based on a Den Den Mushi, and gives you and equipped teammates extra resources.
When is Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. coming out? It is in the game files but not obtainable at launch. Trackers expect it with Lil Uzi Vert's week. His skin is dated for the Item Shop on November 12, and some trackers expect the Sprite on the November 7 Captain's Day. We will update this answer when it goes live.
Are Gold Sprites coming back in Treasure Hunters? Reportedly, yes. Several outlets say Gold Sprites return on a later Captain's Day with bonus XP from eliminations, but they disagree on whether it is November 12 or November 14, and Epic has not said which Sprites get one.
Is Treasure Hunters Chapter 7 Season 5? Epic calls it a mini-season, not Season 5. It started on November 1, 2026, and Epic has scheduled Chapter 7's end event for December 5. Many players and outlets still call it Chapter 7 Season 5.
Can you still use Season 4 Override Sprites? Not in matches. Override's Sprites are not in the Treasure Hunters loot pool. You keep them in your Sprite Collection and Sprite Garden, the same way Season 3 Sprites were kept when Override began.
What are the Treasure Hunters Sprite drop rates? Epic has not published them. Fortnite.GG currently displays 0%, which should not be treated as a measured drop rate. What is confirmed: Sprite Chests and buried Sprite Chests always contain a Sprite, ordinary chests only sometimes do, and ruby Sprite Chests guarantee a Fortune finish.
What do you get for mastering Sprites in Treasure Hunters? Sprite Mastery is under the Treasure tab in the lobby, with a new page unlocking each week and Gizmos along the way. Mastering 40 Sprites unlocks the Navigator's Nosedive Umbrella. Mastery Monday also returns, with double Sprite XP and double Sprite Dust every Monday.
Looking back at Season 4
If you want to look up what any of the Override Sprites did, our Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite guide has every ability, finish, and Lobby Hack code for that roster, and the Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprite guide has the full Season 3 drop-rate table. The Fortnite Sprite checklist now tracks all three seasons in one grid, Treasure Hunters included.
Sprites are also a reminder that a Fortnite collection is built season by season and cannot be bought back later. If you are shopping for an account with that history already in it, our Fortnite accounts list the full inventory before you buy.
