What Are the 8 New Midnight Dungeons?

WoW Midnight Season 1 launched with 8 brand-new dungeons across four zones, plus a handful of returning legacy dungeons in the Mythic+ rotation. Four of the new dungeons are part of Season 1's M+ pool; the rest are leveling-path and storyline content. This guide covers every dungeon, its bosses, mechanics, and M+ rotation status.

Windrunner Spire

Eversong Woods · Coords 35.50, 78.80 · Level 81 unlock · M+ rotation

The Windrunner family's ancestral tower, now under void siege. Four-boss linear progression — entryway, main hall, rooftop. Alleria narrates the intro cinematic.

  • Emberdawn — Flaming Updraft, Fire Breath, Searing Beak (positional, stay out of frontal cone)
  • Derelict Duo — Shadow Bolt, Curse of Darkness, Splattering Spew (dispel curse, manage spew positioning)
  • Commander Kroluk — Reckless Leap, Intimidating Shout, Rallying Bellow (the tank gets the leap, raid eats the bellow)
  • The Restless Heart — Arrow Rain, Squall Leap, Bolt Gale (rooftop finale, spread for arrow rain)
Drops White Hawkstrider item iconSpectral Hawkstrider at low rates. Full boss-by-boss strategy in our Windrunner Spire M+ guide.

Murder Row

Silvermoon City · Coords 57.00, 61.00 · Level 83 unlock · Heroic only in Season 1

Silvermoon's criminal underbelly — a fel-smuggling operation beneath the Bazaar. Four bosses, tight set-pieces, fast clears.

  • Kystia Manaheart — Remove Illicit Infusion to free Nibbles, dodge the Fel Spray
  • Zaen Bladesorrow — Take cover when he casts Murder in a Row at full energy
  • Xathuux the Annihilator — Avoid Burning Steps pools, prepare for Demonic Rage burst
  • Lithiel Cinderfury — Use her Demonic Gateway to pass through Malefic Wave safely

Den of Nalorakk

Zul'Aman · Coords 31.00, 84.00 · Level 88 unlock · Heroic only in Season 1

Three bosses ending at Nalorakk himself, returning from his original TBC raid encounter as the Loa of War.

  • Sentinel of Winter — Raging Squalls movement plus Eternal Winter knockback at 100 energy
  • Nalorakk — bear-form / troll-form swap finale

Maisara Caverns

Zul'Aman · Coords 43.90, 39.70 · Level 88 unlock · M+ rotation

Vilebranch troll caverns built around necromantic ritual chambers. Three bosses, Method's M+ pushers consider it the most route-optimized dungeon in the rotation.

  • Muro'jin and Nekraxx — A tracker and his reanimated eagle, dual-target with aerial dive mechanics
  • Vordaza — The Vilebranch's master of souls, soul-extraction rituals empower later phases
  • Rak'tul, Vessel of Souls — A monstrous dire troll bound in the depths, classic enrage execute
Full per-boss strategy, the trash route, and push-key tips in our Maisara Caverns M+ guide.

The Blinding Vale

Harandar · Coords 26.80, 78.00 · Level 88 unlock · Heroic only in Season 1

A Light-themed Harandar dungeon where the bioluminescence cycles between bright and dark phases. Four bosses, positional execution matters more than in any other Midnight dungeon.

  • Lightblossom Trinity — three bosses, shared HP, cleave-friendly
  • Ikuzz the Light Hunter — bioluminescence-cycle positional check
  • Lightwarden Ruia — shielded add waves, cyclical burst pressure
  • Ziekket — Concentrated Lightbeam onto Lasher corpses prevents respawns

Magisters' Terrace

Isle of Quel'Danas · Coords 63.00, 15.00 · Level 90 unlock · M+ rotation

The classic TBC location returns with a completely new boss lineup built around void-touched magister experiments. Four bosses, deliberately longer than the other M+ dungeons.

  • Arcanotron Custos — Dispel Ethereal Shackles, dodge Arcane Expulsion, soak Refueling Protocol orbs (boss damage +20% during soak phase)
  • Seranel Sunlash — Suppression zone protects from Wave of Silence, dispel Hastening Ward
  • Gemellus — Triplicate copies at start and 50%, manage Neural Link proximity, move through Astral Grasp
  • Degentrius — Coordinate the Unstable Energy projectile, spread for Hulking Fragment, pop CDs for Devouring Entropy
Drops Hawkstridermount White item iconLucent Hawkstrider. Full boss-by-boss strategy in our Magisters' Terrace M+ guide.

Nexus-Point Xenas

Voidstorm · Coords 64.75, 61.75 · Level 90 unlock · M+ rotation

Void-tech dungeon inside an abandoned Naaru installation. Three bosses with gravity mechanics that genuinely change how the encounter plays.

  • Chief Corewright Kasreth — The namesake. Standing on one of five Corespark Conduits and opening the Netherstorm Structural Cage rescues his pet (the Gortham battle pet)
  • Corewarden Nysarra
  • Lothraxion
Among the four M+ rotation dungeons, Xenas is widely considered the most mechanically interesting and the easiest to learn well. Full boss-by-boss strategy in our Nexus-Point Xenas M+ guide.

Voidscar Arena

Slayer's Rise, Voidstorm · Coords 53.70, 34.00 · Level 90 unlock · Heroic only in Season 1

  • Atroxus — starving behemoth with poison
  • Charonus — the arena's owner and final encounter
Full per-boss strategy in our Voidscar Arena dungeon guide.

For Season 1 Mythic+ pushing, the community-standard meta comp is:

  • Tank: Brewmaster Monk
  • Healer: Restoration Druid
  • DPS: Demonology Warlock + Havoc DH + Augmentation Evoker
That comp leverages Demonology's burst windows, Havoc's all-around damage, Augmentation's group buffs, Brewmaster's smooth damage intake, and Resto Druid's HoT layering. Substitutions work — any S-tier or A+ DPS spec slots in fine — but the comp above is what the top 1,000 keys mostly look like.
