Diablo Immortal Hallows Phantom Guide (Oct 2026): Long March, Class Balance, Challenge Rift S21
Quick Answer · Diablo Immortal Hallows Phantom · Patch 5.1.2
• What: Patch 5.1.2 brings Hallows Phantom (Halloween Defense of Cyrangar), the Long March campaign, Gifts of Corvus buffs, new Legendary essences and gear, class balance for Monk, Demon Hunter, Druid, Blood Knight and Warlock, Challenge Rift Season 21, and QoL (inventory pin, Secondary Item Rank to 30).
• Maintenance: Oceania / East Asia / Southeast Asia / Europe Oct 20, 2026, 5-7 p.m. PDT (7-9 p.m. CDT). Americas Oct 21, 2026, 1-3 a.m. PDT (3-5 a.m. CDT).
• Hallows Phantom + Long March: Oct 21 after maintenance through Nov 11, 2026, 2:59 a.m. Earn Hallowed Stones and Skeletal Spoils; unused Hallowed Stones are removed when the event ends.
• Challenge Rift Season 21: Nov 2 - Dec 17, 2026. New floors 901-950; first clear of Floor 950 per server gets a limited portrait frame until Season 22.

Blizzard dropped the full Hallows Phantom / patch 5.1.2 preview today, and it is a packed Halloween stretch for Diablo Immortal. Westmarch gets festive decor, Defense of Cyrangar gets a spooky reskin as Hallows Phantom, a new Long March campaign runs alongside returning events, Gifts of Corvus gets real buffs, five classes get balance attention with a pile of new Legendary essences, Challenge Rift Season 21 opens in early November, and QoL finally gives you inventory pinning plus Secondary Item Rank up to 30.

Everything below is drawn from that Blizzard news post and the linked Patch 5.1.2 essences and class balance forums thread. Forum tooltips note that displayed values can still change before release, so treat the numbers as the preview snapshot, not a final client dump.

When patch 5.1.2 goes live

As with recent content updates, the new toys land after regional maintenance:

  • Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe: October 20, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT (7 p.m. to 9 p.m. CDT).
  • Americas: October 21, 2026, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. PDT (3 a.m. to 5 a.m. CDT).
Once maintenance ends on your region, the features listed in the preview are live unless Blizzard calls out a later start date. Challenge Rift Season 21 is the big delayed piece (November 2). Hallows Phantom and Long March both open after Americas maintenance on October 21 and run through November 11, 2026, at 2:59 a.m.

If you are on Americas and planning a late-night login, that 3-5 a.m. CDT window is the one to watch. Europe and Asia players get the content a calendar day earlier in local terms because their maintenance finishes on the evening of October 20 PDT.

Hallows Phantom: Halloween Defense of Cyrangar

Hallows Wake is back dressed as Hallows Phantom. Citizens of Westmarch decorate the city, and you jump into a Halloween take on Defense of Cyrangar after receiving a gift from the Crone. The loop is familiar if you have run Cyrangar before: clear waves of monsters, knock out daily and weekly quests, and bank currency for the shop.

The currency this time is Hallowed Stones. Blizzard lists exchange rewards that include:

  • Gold
  • Arcane Dust
  • Telluric Pearls
  • Legendary Crests
Complete tasks and spend Hallowed Stones to unlock limited head cosmetics:
  • Headless Pyre
  • Headless Miasma
  • Headless Haunt
There are also server-wide leaderboards with extra prizes when the event concludes. Event window: October 21, 2026 (after maintenance) through November 11, 2026, 2:59 a.m.

One hard rule from Blizzard: any unused Hallowed Stones are removed when the event ends. Do not sit on a huge stack thinking you will convert them later. Spend them before the cutoff.

For players who like seasonal cosmetics more than power, the three Headless looks are the clear chase. For players grinding crests and pearls, treat Phantom like a short Defense of Cyrangar season with a hard currency wipe at the end.

Long March campaign and returning events

Running in parallel is a brand-new event campaign called Long March. Complete tasks during Long March to earn Skeletal Spoils, then claim rewards that Blizzard lists as including Telluric Pearls, 1-Star Legendary Gems, Set Items of your choice, and selectable Legendary Item Chests.

Weekly Long March tasks refresh every Wednesday at 3:00 a.m. The campaign shares the same outer dates as Hallows Phantom: October 21, 2026 (after maintenance) through November 11, 2026, 2:59 a.m.

Selectable Legendary equipment rewards also get a quiet but important upgrade in this patch. Instead of a random Legendary from a chosen slot, you now receive a specific Legendary item for that slot. That is a meaningful quality bump for anyone farming chests during Long March or other events that feed selectable legendaries.

Patch 5.1.2 also stacks several returning events on the Long March calendar:

EventWindow (as listed by Blizzard)
Trial of the HordesOct 21, 2026 3:00 a.m. - Oct 27, 2026 2:59 a.m.
Shady StockOct 24, 2026 3:00 a.m. - Oct 31, 2026 2:59 a.m.
Fractured PlaneOct 28, 2026 3:00 a.m. - Nov 4, 2026 2:59 a.m.
All Clans on DeckOct 31, 2026 3:00 a.m. - Nov 7, 2026 2:59 a.m.

That is a dense three weeks. If you only have limited playtime, prioritize Hallows Phantom dailies (currency wipe), Long March weeklies (Wednesday reset), then whichever returning event matches your clan or solo schedule.

Experience optimization: New badges

Blizzard added a simple but useful UI cue for event freshness. When new activities, challenges, or objectives land inside an event, a "New" badge appears on the corresponding tab. If the event itself contains new content, its main entry point also shows New. Once you view the content, the badge clears until the next refresh.

New badges refresh every Wednesday at 3:00 a.m. server time alongside the weekly task reset. That lines up with Long March weeklies, so Wednesday morning (or whenever your weekly reset hits) is a good habit check for both currency tasks and newly unlocked objectives.

Gifts of Corvus balance adjustments

Gifts of Corvus get a round of straight buffs for the stretch after maintenance. Event period: after maintenance on October 21, 2026, through November 16, 2026, at 2:59 a.m. Tower War is available daily from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 8-10 p.m. Chaos Convoy is available all day. Players Level 46 and above can speak to the Battleground Captain to participate.

Official adjustments:

  • Local Censure: Additional skill suppression duration increased from 4 to 5 seconds, and cast range increased.
  • Superior Bandage: Life restored every 0.5 seconds increased from 10% to 15%.
  • Pulsing Shield: Damage to nearby enemies each second increased from 100% to 150% of your Shield amount.
  • Portal Backlash: Fixed damage to nearby enemies after using a portal increased from 35% to 45% of their maximum Life.
  • Into the Fray: Resurrection time reduction increased from 50% to 75%.
  • Fleet Strike: For every 1% Movement Speed bonus you have over an enemy, the damage bonus against that enemy increased from 1% to 2%.
  • Bondbreaker: Duration of immunity to control and knockback when you are affected by either effect increased from 1 to 2 seconds.
These are not tiny tweaks. Superior Bandage and Pulsing Shield help sustain and chip damage, Into the Fray and Bondbreaker matter in contested fights, and Fleet Strike doubles the reward for winning the move-speed race. If you already live in Tower War or Chaos Convoy, re-read your Corvus loadout after maintenance instead of assuming last month's ranking still holds.

If you are bouncing between a fresh seasonal character and an older main for battlegrounds, that Corvus window is a good reason to keep both ready rather than parking one for the whole Hallows stretch.

New essences, Legendary gear, and class balance

Patch 5.1.2 adds a large batch of Legendary equipment essences across classes, plus targeted balance changes for Monk, Demon Hunter, Druid, Blood Knight, and Warlock. The full list lives on the forums announcement. Below is a player-facing digest of what matters most. Remember Blizzard's preview note: displayed values can change before release.

Terminology: Unstoppable

Blizzard is shortening a long immunity phrase. Where Legendary Essence text previously spelled out temporary immunity to knockback, total loss of control, and silence, it now uses the term Unstoppable. If you see Unstoppable on a tooltip or skill page after the patch, that is what it means.

Highlight Legendary essences (preview values)

Every class in the forums post gets a six-piece Legendary set of new essences. A few standouts for the classes called out in the news preview:

Monk

  • Mirrored Stinger (Main Hand): Mystic Allies makes you vanish and reappear at a target location, summoning two untargetable allies that perform Primary Attacks. Mystic Allies damage increased by 18%.
  • Repurposed Faith (Off-Hand): Mystic Strike also increases Skill damage by 28.5% for 3 seconds.
  • Violent Sky Robes (Chest): Cyclone Strike causes you and nearby Mystic Allies to unleash simultaneous cyclones that damage enemies, dispel beneficial effects, and increase damage taken. Cyclone Strike damage +18%.
  • Fanned Diadem (Head): Each nearby Mystic Ally increases your damage by 15.2%, up to 31.4%.
  • Distracting Baubles (Shoulders): Mystic Strike also makes you untargetable for 0.65 seconds (internal cooldown 4 seconds).
Demon Hunter
  • Ashreign (Main Hand): Multishot targets several enemies in front of you with explosive projectiles and auto-triggers near Burning enemies. Multishot damage +18%.
  • Breath Aflame (Chest): Knockback Shot becomes channeled, spraying fire while you stay mobile, damaging and Burning enemies. Knockback Shot damage +18%.
  • Opulent Snare (Legs): Knife Trap deploys a snare that Immobilizes, disables Dash skills, and increases damage taken; auto-triggers when an enemy player approaches.
  • Winds of Vengeance (Shoulders): Multishot cooldown reduced by 0.45 seconds per enemy hit, up to 1.35 seconds per use.
Blood Knight
  • Night Wolf (Main Hand): Whirling Strike dashes multiple times, then slams based on dash hits. Whirling Strike damage +18%.
  • Bound Shadowspring (Off-Hand): Umbral Lance conjures shadow spears consumed by Dash skills, raining spears on nearby enemies. Umbral Lance damage +18%.
  • Nightwatch Regalia (Chest): Shroud of Night empowers you so Dash skills conjure a shadow that applies Gnawing Shadows. Shroud of Night damage +18%.
  • Lurking Clutches (Shoulders): Umbral Lance disables Dash skills for 2.9 seconds on hit (6-second per-target cooldown).
Druid
  • Cackling Legion (Main Hand): Raven Swarm is channeled, unleashing ravens in a fan that auto-triggers equipped animal companion skills (Summon Wolves / Grizzly). Raven Swarm damage +18%.
  • Exodus Talon (Off-Hand): Raven Swarm also reduces damage taken by 30% for 2 seconds when it deals damage.
  • Tribute of Ursa (Head): Summon Grizzly conjures a spirit bear drop that damages and Stuns; consuming Primal Power restores skill charges. Summon Grizzly damage +18%.
  • Fever Course (Shoulders): Summon Wolves conjures flaming wolves that charge, Burn, and restore charges when you spend Primal Power. Summon Wolves damage +18%.
Warlock
  • Damnation Bond (Off-Hand): Warp Strike lets you leap into a portal and control the Soulgorger as it charges and stomps. Warp Strike damage +18%.
  • First Blood's Reward (Legs): Spiteful Sacrifice empowers you or your summons so shadow bolts fall on damaged nearby enemies. Spiteful Sacrifice damage +18%.
  • Peak of Tarnished Stars (Shoulders): Devouring Darkness conjures a following ritual circle that damages you and enemies inside while reducing damage taken for you and summons. Devouring Darkness damage +18%.
  • Quelling Glare (Head): Devouring Darkness deals 48% increased damage to enemies within 4 yards.
Wizard, Barbarian, Crusader, Necromancer, and Tempest also receive full six-piece essence lines in the same forums post (Meteor / Scorch packages for Wizard, Hammer of the Ancients / Sunder / Demoralize packages for Barbarian, and so on). If you main one of those classes, open the forums thread and plan extracts around the new six rather than assuming old BiS still wins by default.

Class balance changes (Monk, DH, Druid, Blood Knight, Warlock)

Monk - Clashing Sky (Flying Kick): Reworked into a jump to a designated location with 4 consecutive flying stomps that deal area damage and knock enemies back. Each enemy hit by a stomp grants a shield equal to 10% of maximum health, stacking up to 20%. Dev note: stomps now happen as a sequence regardless of hits; hits grant the stacking Life-based shield instead of the old conditional second stomp.

Demon Hunter

  • Agony's Specter (Escape): Escape still rolls a short distance and empowers Primary Attacks to shoot twice. Using it while under attack now grants 50% basic attack speed and 50% basic attack critical hit chance (the while-knocked bonus no longer increases Primary Attack damage; it increases crit chance instead).
  • Brutal Temperance (Vengeance) and Twisted Wyrd (Multishot): Extra piercing / explosive shell damage is now treated as Primary Attack damage, so it can benefit from effects like Agony's Specter's crit chance bonus.
Blood Knight
  • Macabre Facade (Shroud of Night): Apparitions still use your Primary Attack; they now gain greater Attack Speed the closer they are to you.
  • Torture and Torment (Swarm of Bats): Bat bite damage increased from 48% to 80% of your damage.
  • Five-Finger Spear (Whirling Strike): Primary Attack blood-arc effects now also apply to apparitions from Macabre Facade.
Druid
  • Half-seed Shell (Howl - Werewolf): Now a fixed 7-second duration (no longer extends by damaging Bleeding enemies).
  • Hide Scraper (Rend and Tear - Werewolf): No longer restores charges on Bleeding hits. Instead it has increased Critical Hit Chance against Bleeding enemies, you are Unstoppable during the attack, Rend and Tear damage rises from 220% to 320%, and it now has 3 charges.
Warlock
  • Crash and Burn (Burning Ascent): Remains channeled Hellflyer control; damage cadence fixed to every 1 second (it was incorrectly dealing damage every 0.5 seconds).
  • Pyrestorm (Spiteful Sacrifice): Sacrificial Power version no longer heals you.
  • Clawing End (Siphon Life): Ritual completion now grants a shield plus Attack Speed and damage instead of a heal.
  • Gorewyrn (Demonic Pact): Cooldown increased from 15 to 24 seconds.
  • Soulgorger (baseline): Stun and knockback from the Pummeling Eruption attack no longer affect enemy players.
Net read for PvP-minded Warlocks: less free healing on a couple of paths, a longer Demonic Pact cooldown, and less Soulgorger crowd control into players. Druid Werewolf loses duration gaming on Howl but gains a much harder-hitting, charge-rich Rend and Tear with Unstoppable. Demon Hunter Primary Attack packages look intentionally glued together. Monk Flying Kick becomes a reliable multi-stomp shield generator.

Legendary Essence Loyalty Point reset

With Inferno XV Legendary Essences arriving, all Loyalty Points convert into Legacy Loyalty Points. Afterward, equipment obtained in Inferno XV can be extracted into Loyalty Points. Adventurers who have unlocked Inferno XV can use Loyalty Points to convert to Inferno XV Legendary Essences. If you have been hoarding Loyalty Points for an older Inferno tier, spend or plan around that conversion before you extract a pile of new XV gear without thinking.

Challenge Rift Season 21

Season 21 of Challenge Rift runs November 2, 2026, through December 17, 2026. New levels: 901-950. Previous level difficulties are increased.

The first player on each server to clear Floor 950 receives an exclusive limited-time portrait frame that lasts until Season 22 begins. If you chase first-clear cosmetics, mark November 2 and treat the new 901-950 band as the real ladder, not a casual extension of Season 20.

QoL: inventory pinning and Secondary Item Rank 30

Pin items in your inventory

You can now pin up to 22 items in the Inventory screen so they stay prioritized and easier to find. Pinned items show a distinctive gilded outline. Unpin anytime to restore normal order. Items of the same type can only be pinned once. This is the kind of small quality change that matters every single login once you rely on it for consumables, crests, and event currencies.

Secondary Item Rank raised to 30

The maximum Secondary Item Rank increases from 25 to 30. Higher ranks unlock at Paragon milestones:

Secondary Item RankParagon unlock
26Paragon 1600
27Paragon 1700
28Paragon 1800
29Paragon 2000
30Paragon 2100

Upgrade levels 21 and above still require specific Paragon Level thresholds before they can be enhanced. Blizzard frames this as endgame runway tied to continued Paragon advancement rather than a free rank dump for every character.

Bug fixes called out in the preview

The news post lists three fixes worth knowing if you play Tempest or Wind Walk setups:

  • Wind Walk Affix restored fewer charges than intended (fixed).
  • Certain instant-cast skills could not be cast immediately after using Breaker with the Tempest Legendary Essence Mistwalkers (fixed).
  • Visual effects of Cascade triggered by illusions displayed incorrectly when using Tempest Legendary Essence Sumptuous Swell together with Water Clogs (fixed; Blizzard's sentence is cut off in the public preview text, but the intent is a VFX cleanup for that essence pairing).

How to plan the next three weeks

A practical Americas-friendly plan after the October 21 maintenance:

  • Night of maintenance / morning after: Claim the Crone gift, start Hallows Phantom, open Long March, pin your event currencies and most-used consumables.
  • Every day: Phantom dailies for Hallowed Stones (remember the wipe), Tower War windows if you play Corvus, Chaos Convoy when you have gaps.
  • Every Wednesday after 3:00 a.m.: Long March weeklies, check New badges, reassess selectable Legendary targets.
  • Event calendar: Trial of the Hordes first week, Shady Stock mid-week, Fractured Plane into early November, All Clans on Deck around Halloween night into the first week of November.
  • November 2: Challenge Rift Season 21 opens. Decide early whether you are racing Floor 950 for the portrait frame or treating 901+ as a slower climb.
  • Before November 11, 2:59 a.m.: Spend remaining Hallowed Stones. Confirm Long March Skeletal Spoils are claimed.
  • Through November 16, 2:59 a.m.: Keep Corvus gifts in rotation while those buffs are live.
Europe and Asia players can shift that plan one evening earlier for the initial login, then follow the same weekly rhythm.

Patch 5.1.2 is a Halloween content sandwich: Hallows Phantom for Defense of Cyrangar fans, Long March for weekly campaign grinders, Corvus buffs for battleground regulars, a deep essence and balance pass for five classes (with more essence lines for everyone), Challenge Rift Season 21 in early November, and two QoL upgrades that high-Paragon players and inventory hoarders will feel immediately.

Read the official preview, skim the forums essence list for your class, set a calendar reminder for the Hallowed Stones wipe, and do not sleep on the Inferno XV Loyalty Point conversion if you extract gear right after maintenance. See you in the phantom waves.
