Updated November 7, 2026. Blizzard has applied its November 5 and 6 fixes, but the next targeted class tuning is only planned for Tuesday, November 10. Those are different sets of changes. Do not read a promise about sturdier pets or Strength-focused Enhancement gearing as something already active this weekend.
For leveling players, the important decisions are concrete: keep Strength and Attack Power pieces for your Enhancement Shaman, do not mistake corrected Druid tooltips for damage nerfs, and distinguish the small Voidwalker health increase already deployed from the larger durability review still coming. Affliction Warlocks should also expect Blizzard to repair the relationship between Wrack and their damage-over-time spells, rather than assume a channel-only rotation is the intended endpoint.
This is a post-launch update, not another tour of every talent tree. The primary sources are Blizzard's November 6 hotfix log and Kaivax's Class Tuning Incoming: November 10 announcement. Advice below is editorial interpretation of those statements, not a tested best-in-slot list or a simulated damage ranking.
What Is Live and What Is Still Planned?
The November 6 notes contain both real mechanical fixes and corrections to information displayed by the client. That distinction matters when someone tells you their class was suddenly buffed or nerfed.
Already listed as hotfixed:
- Bloom now heals its target correctly.
- Arcane Blast's duration is corrected to 18 seconds.
- Voidwalker base health is increased by about 40 at all levels.
- Soul Siphon no longer incorrectly lets Wrack increase its own damage.
- Orc Command no longer benefits some Warlock pet abilities too much.
- Shadowmeld no longer grants Druids unintended access to Ravage and Pounce.
- Shank, Bear Form, Ravage, Swiftmend and Reckless Swings have corrected tooltips.
- The Cooldown Manager accounts for reductions when showing crowd-control duration.
- Hunter pet and Voidwalker tank durability closer to Classic Era effectiveness.
- Affliction damage-over-time spells worth casting alongside Wrack, while preserving total damage output as the design goal.
- Enhancement gearing that makes Strength the strongest stat instead of favoring caster gear.
Enhancement Shaman: Start Saving Strength Gear Now
The strongest actionable instruction in the announcement is directed at Enhancement players: collect Strength and Attack Power gear from now on. That advice is from Blizzard itself, not a projection based on an unpublished coefficient.
Kaivax explains that players are finding Intellect and Spell Power superior to Strength and Attack Power. Blizzard does not want Enhancement preferring gear intended for Mages and Warlocks. Its desired endpoint is that Strength is always the strongest stat, with good items ideally carrying Strength or Attack Power plus some Intellect and/or Spell Power.
That last clause is easy to lose in a short headline. Blizzard is not saying that every point of Intellect becomes useless, that hybrid items disappear, or that you should empty your bags of every caster-stat item today. It is saying that the foundation of the specialization's gearing should change.
A Practical Weekend Inventory Plan
Before vendoring an apparent sidegrade, ask whether it fits the announced direction. If a quest gives you a usable Strength or Attack Power option and your current build happens to perform better in Intellect gear, retain the physical-stat piece when practical. The same applies to dungeon rewards you already own.
Separate three decisions:
- What helps you finish your next quest today? That depends on your actual current equipment and abilities.
- What should you keep for the announced tuning? Blizzard explicitly points toward Strength and Attack Power.
- What is worth an expensive purchase? Without final tuning numbers, a costly specialization-specific purchase carries more uncertainty than a free reward.
Do Not Invent a New Stat Weight Table Yet
The announcement does not supply a Strength-to-damage conversion, a new talent layout, an Attack Power-to-Spell Power ratio, or a revised ability coefficient. Any exact ranking beyond Blizzard's intended Strength priority needs evidence from the implemented changes.
A published calculator can model an assumption very precisely and still be wrong about the future. Be particularly cautious with lists that present speculative weights as though Blizzard released them. Keep your current leveling setup functional, save sensible alternatives, and reassess once the actual hotfix notes explain what changed.
The earlier Mage and Shaman class overview is background reading. Its older talent descriptions are not evidence that November 10 tuning is already active.
Hunter Pets and Voidwalkers: Two Different Updates
Blizzard says Hunter pets and Warlock Voidwalkers are not as durable as tanks as intended. Its reference point is relatively the same effectiveness as Classic Era. It plans to adjust stats as necessary.
This does not promise an invulnerable pet, a player-tank replacement for every dungeon, or the same health number for every pet family. Nor does it specify a final percentage increase to health or armor. The announcement describes an outcome the developers want, not the final implementation.
For a Hunter, the important consequence is that poor pet durability is being treated as a real issue to fix, not dismissed as a misunderstanding. For a Warlock, there is already a smaller concrete change: the November 6 log increases Voidwalker base health by about 40 at all levels.
Why the Existing Health Increase Is Not the Whole Solution
The hotfix wording says about 40, not 40 percent. Do not turn a flat base-health adjustment into a dramatic percentage buff. Its relative value also depends on the pet's current total health.
The planned November 10 review is broader. A pet can feel weak because it takes too much damage, has too little health, or loses practical tanking effectiveness under the encounters you are doing. Blizzard has not committed to addressing those through any one specific stat. Until it does, claims that a particular armor multiplier or inherited-stat formula has been announced go beyond the source.
What to Observe Before and After Tuning
If you want a useful comparison, keep the conditions recognizable. Note your level, the pet used, the enemy type, whether it was one enemy or several, and what support you provided. A pet surviving one ordinary opponent does not prove it will handle an elite or a crowded camp.
Avoid drawing conclusions from a single screenshot of a health bar. Compare similar situations, and distinguish durability from threat management. A pet that survives longer can still lose a target if the owner's damage overtakes its threat. The tuning announcement promises better tank effectiveness relative to Classic Era, not that every separate pet-control problem is solved.
For this weekend, continue playing around what the pet can actually survive. Do not plan pulls around a future buff. The safest improvement a patch can offer is the one already present in the game, not the one a headline says is coming.
Affliction Warlock: Wrack Should Complement Your DoTs
Kaivax identifies a specific unwanted result: reports suggest always channeling Wrack is superior to also casting Siphon Life, Corruption and Bane of Agony. Blizzard wants those spells to be worthwhile alongside Wrack, without changing Affliction's total damage output as its overall goal.
That is a rotation-design problem. If the channel is so efficient that maintaining the rest of the Affliction toolkit becomes a mistake, the class loses much of the decision-making its spell list implies. The proposed change is meant to restore the value of combining the effects.
It is not an announced blanket damage buff. It is also not a promise that every spell will gain the same amount, that Wrack will retain its current contribution, or that the best sequence will be identical at every level. Blizzard has not published the final adjustment.
The Soul Siphon Fix Is Already Separate
The November 6 hotfix says Soul Siphon no longer incorrectly causes Wrack to increase its own damage. That is already part of the live fix log. The planned November 10 work addresses the broader relationship between the channel and the other damage-over-time abilities.
Do not merge these into one event and describe the planned change as finished. Equally, do not assume the removal of an unintended interaction tells you the final intended damage distribution. Blizzard explicitly says it wants the supporting DoTs to remain worth using, with total output maintained as the goal.
Our earlier Rogue and Warlock overview explains the original toolkit. Use the new official statements, not the old overview alone, when judging whether a current interaction is intentional.
What Not to Spend Gold On Yet
There is no official new rotation spreadsheet or revised best-in-slot list in this announcement. Buying a costly item solely because it amplifies one current interaction is a gamble if that interaction is named for correction.
That does not mean ordinary upgrades are bad. It means you should distinguish a broadly useful leveling item from an expensive bet on the exact balance of one spell. Finish quests, train what you need and retain useful alternatives rather than treating a temporary channel-heavy pattern as permanent class design.
Druid: Real Healing Fixes Versus Tooltip Corrections
The November 6 Druid section is a good example of why every patch-note verb matters.
Bloom now correctly heals the target. This is a functionality fix. If you selected the talent and saw its healing fail, the hotfix directly addresses that problem. The note does not supply a new coefficient or announce a complete Restoration redesign.
Bear Form's health tooltip was wrong. Blizzard explicitly says functionality was correct. A different number in the corrected tooltip should not automatically be described as a reduction to the health you actually receive.
Ravage's tooltip was wrong. Blizzard again makes the distinction explicit: no damage change was made. If someone shares an old and new tooltip as proof of a stealth nerf, the hotfix log says otherwise.
Swiftmend no longer mentions consuming the effect. The tooltip language is corrected. Do not infer a new consumption rule from an old description that Blizzard says was incorrect.
Shadowmeld Is a Different Kind of Fix
Under races, Blizzard fixes a bug that granted Shadowmelded Druids access to Ravage and Pounce. That is an unintended access interaction, not just wording. Night Elf players should not build an opener around Shadowmeld granting those abilities in circumstances where it was never meant to.
None of these notes establishes a new best Druid build or says the entire class is being redesigned this weekend. They resolve specific live issues. That narrower description is more useful than pretending a few corrected tooltips can support a complete ranking of every specialization.
Mage, Rogue and Warrior: Read the New Information Correctly
For Mages, the Arcane Blast duration fix brings the spell to 18 seconds. The November 6 note does not announce a fresh damage increase or a new stack cap. It corrects the duration that was not functioning properly.
The Mage spellbook also gets a cleanup: players were learning Research and losing it after relogging. Blizzard says Research should not exist here. After the relevant quest, Study is the spell you should have. Seeing Research disappear is therefore not, by itself, evidence that your quest progress was erased.
For Rogues, Shank now displays Rank 1 and Rank 2 in its tooltips. When Boot Knife is talented, the tooltip also correctly reports the Combo Points granted. These are information fixes, not an announced new source of additional Combo Points beyond the intended behavior.
For Warriors, Reckless Swings now mentions that it activates Gore Drinker. Blizzard describes this as a tooltip correction. The useful action is to understand the interaction that the client now explains, not assume an undocumented damage buff arrived with the text.
Crowd Control, Racials and Proc Restrictions
The Cooldown Manager now displays crowd-control duration correctly when diminishing returns or mechanic reductions, including Orc stun reduction, apply. This improves what you can read during an encounter. It does not say diminishing returns have been removed or every crowd-control spell lasts its unmodified duration.
Orc Warlocks also receive a fix because some pet abilities benefited too much from Command. That is separate from the pet durability changes. More survivability and correction of excessive damage scaling can happen at the same time without contradicting each other.
Searing Dagger now activates only from spells with a damaging component. The note does not list every eligible spell, so avoid promising a specific unusual proc interaction without testing it. Quick and the Dead, a Legacy talent, also has an issue corrected, but Blizzard does not describe the exact failure conditions. Calling it a specified percentage buff would be inventing detail.
Your Checklist Before Tuesday
- Enhancement: keep usable Strength and Attack Power options; do not assume exact future stat weights.
- Hunter and Warlock: judge pulls by current pet durability, not the planned improvement.
- Affliction: separate the live Soul Siphon correction from the upcoming DoT-and-Wrack adjustment.
- Druid: distinguish Bloom's functional repair from Bear Form, Ravage and Swiftmend text changes.
- Mage: expect Study after the relevant quest, not Research.
- Everyone: check the dated official notes again when November 10 arrives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the November 10 class changes live on November 7?
No. Blizzard describes them as planned hotfixes for Tuesday, November 10. The November 5 and 6 hotfix log is the separate record of changes already listed as applied.
Should Enhancement Shamans collect Strength gear now?
Yes. Blizzard explicitly tells leveling Enhancement players to collect Strength and Attack Power gear from now on. It has not yet published final stat weights or the full implementation.
Is the Voidwalker health increase 40 percent?
No. The November 6 note says base health increased by about 40 at all levels. The broader pet durability work remains planned for November 10.
Is Affliction receiving an overall damage buff?
Blizzard's stated goal is to make DoTs worthwhile alongside Wrack without affecting total Affliction damage output. Final numbers were not included in the announcement.
Was Ravage damage nerfed in the November 6 hotfix?
No. Blizzard explicitly says Ravage's tooltip was corrected and no change was made to damage done.
Why did my Mage lose Research after relogging?
Blizzard says Research should not exist in this version. Study is the intended spell after the relevant quest, and the hotfix addresses the erroneous Research behavior.
