Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek
The next batch of WoW Midnight Season 2 class tier sets, the Venomous Abyss appearances, have been datamined on the Patch 12.1 "Curse of Ula'tek" PTR. Here's every set, class by class and grouped by armor type, with all four recolor variants for each.
Heads up: These are PTR datamined models. Colors, effects, and even whole pieces often change before a patch goes live, so expect some of these to look different at launch.

The Venomous Abyss sets lean on a serpent-and-troll motif across the season, but in practice each class leans hardest into its own fantasy. There's a Monkey King monk, a Dreamwalker druid, and a Light-drenched paladin sitting right next to the snake-themed mail. Here's the full lineup.

Plate Sets

Death Knight Plate

Death Knight raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Charcoal, bone-ridged plate stacked like overlapping vertebrae down the arms and legs, finished with a horned helm crowned by a hovering blue soul-flame. The pauldrons are the centerpiece: caged spectral rune-orbs that pulse a cold frost-blue, echoed by glowing runework across the chest and a deep violet tabard. Grave-cold and unmistakably runic, exactly the death-knight register you'd expect.

Paladin Plate

Radiant gold platemail with sky-blue and crimson inlays, a crowned open-faced helm, and shoulders wreathed in living holy flame. A large red cabochon anchors the waist with matching gems set across the breastplate and tassets. This is the ceremonial, sun-bright end of the lineup. Pure Light-paladin grandeur rather than anything venomous.

Warrior Plate

Heavy, weathered bronze-and-brass plate lined with thick fur, topped by a horned single-spiked helm and pauldrons that trail small orange embers. A snarling warlord face is stamped into the belt with a jade cabochon at its center. Brutal and old-world. This one reads "warlord" more than "raider."

Mail Sets

Hunter Mail

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Hunter Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Hunter raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

The most overtly serpentine of the mail trio: a green viper-head helm with a beaked mouthguard, teal-glowing fang spines sweeping back off the shoulders, and a golden serpent-scale chest and tassets. Pure ambush-predator. If any set sells the "Venomous" theme on the box art, it's this one.

Shaman Mail

Shaman raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Home to the single best effect in the batch: two spectral blue sea-serpent spirits coil up and outward from the shoulders, jaws open. The problem is the rest of it: the icy-blue scaled robe-over-mail, horned teal-eyed helm, and bone spikes are fairly plain once you look past the serpents. Best-in-show concept, middling set around it.

Evoker Mail

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Evoker Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Evoker raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Crimson dragon-scale mail trimmed in gold filigree and set with smoky purple gems, finished with a horned helm and a layered scale skirt. Scaled and draconic with a faintly volcanic edge, a natural fit for the dracthyr silhouette.

Leather Sets

Demon Hunter Leather

Massive curved purple horns crown the helm, while bone-and-skull pauldrons wreathed in orange fel-fire glow from their empty eye sockets. Bandage-wrapped arms and a bronze-and-red harness with a single red gem complete the look. Predatory and hunting-the-abyss, all menace and very little restraint.

Druid Leather

Druid raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

The most ornate set in the lineup. Literal living tree-bark slabs form the shoulders, threaded with green vines and leaves, behind a pair of glowing blue Dream-feather wings. An antlered crown topped with a blue rose sits over a deep purple robe with silver tracery. Dreamwalker through and through, and the recolors swing wide, from the purple shown to a striking red-and-green autumn variant.

Monk Leather

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Monk Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Monk raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

A full Monkey King homage: a white-furred bearded mask beneath a crown of teal phoenix feathers, jade-green silk layered with gold cloud filigree, and red tassels swinging from the shoulders, waist, and cuffs. Playful, regal, and deeply Pandaria-coded, easily the most characterful leather set.

Rogue Leather

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Rogue Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Rogue raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Troll witch-doctor leather, and the set that leans hardest into the raid's troll motif. Teal cloth and wraps, bone horned pauldrons that glow teal, a purple feather mohawk over a masked face, and a grinning skull buckle with lit teal eye-sockets. Hex-and-ambush in one silhouette.

Cloth Sets

Mage Cloth

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Mage Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Mage raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Pure radiant power. A sunburst crown and shoulders built from jagged orange ley-energy spikes that seem to hover off the frame, over a magenta-and-purple robe with white fur trim and gold piping. Arcane-meets-solar, the loudest, most luminous cloth set of the three.

Priest Cloth

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Priest Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Priest raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

Serene and cosmic. A pale hood ringed by a golden halo studded with star-points, mirrored calm faces set into the pauldrons, and a white-teal-and-navy robe with a glowing sun emblem at the chest. Penitent and celestial, the quiet counterpoint to the mage's fireworks.

Warlock Cloth

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek Warlock Venomous Abyss raid tier set appearances across the LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic recolors
Warlock raid tier set: LFR, Normal, Heroic & Mythic appearances

The darkest design in the set. A black hood veined with molten orange light frames a grinning skull face; curved horn-blade pauldrons glow ember-red; heavy chains and broken shackles drape a maroon-and-charcoal robe, with flame curling from the hands. Damned-cultist energy, top to bottom.

Our Ranking: The Best Sets of the Batch

Top of the pile is the Death Knight set. The bone-ridged plate, the caged spectral rune-orbs on the shoulders, and the cold frost-blue glow come together into the most complete, best-realized look here. It nails the death-knight fantasy without a single weak piece.

Priest is a close second. The golden cosmic halo, the mirrored serene faces on the pauldrons, and the clean white-teal-navy robe make it the most elegant set in the lineup. Restrained where most of the others go loud, and better for it.

Druid rounds out the top three. It's the most intricate set of the bunch, with genuine depth in the living bark shoulders, the vines, and the glowing Dream wings, and its recolors swing the widest of any class.

Here's the frustrating part. The sets that lean hardest into the raid's actual theme are Shaman (those spectral serpents), Rogue (full troll witch-doctor), and Hunter (the truest "viper" of the lot). They have the best *concepts* but the most underwhelming *execution*. Strong idea, flat delivery. Blizzard has once again left these classes in the dust.

Worth noting: Each set ships in multiple recolor variants tied to where the gear comes from, so the tints you see here are only one version of each. The datamined renders also predate final lighting and effects, so expect the in-game versions to read a little differently once the patch is live.

When Can You Get Them?

These Season 2 tier sets arrive with Patch 12.1, "Curse of Ula'tek," currently in PTR testing. Exact timing, acquisition, and any catalyst conversion details will firm up as the patch moves toward live.
