Override is over. Fortnite's Treasure Hunters season went live overnight with update v43.00, and it is a hard reset in almost every way that matters. There is a brand new 80-player island called Crossbones Isle, One Piece powers in the loot pool, a weekly rotation of celebrity captains with their own crews and POIs, and an economy change that will change how every match starts: Gold Bars are gone.
Epic laid out the season in its Treasure Hunters announcement on October 30, then posted the full Battle Royale v43.00 notes and separate Reload v43.00 notes this morning. This guide pulls all of it together with the times in Central, plus what to do first before the next Captain's Day. If you missed the wind-down of Override, our Final Spritemare guide covers how the last season ended.
When Did Fortnite Treasure Hunters Start?
Epic's status page scheduled the v43.00 downtime for 1 AM ET, which was 05:00 UTC. Since daylight saving time ended overnight, that landed at midnight Central on Saturday night going into Sunday. Matchmaking shut off 30 minutes earlier. The maintenance was marked complete at 08:12 UTC, which is 2:12 AM CT on the new standard time, so the downtime lasted a little over three hours.
That means Treasure Hunters has been playable since early Sunday morning. The first scheduled moment you need to plan around is the first Captain's Day, which Epic says "kicks off with the Season on November 1 at 9 AM ET." That is 8 AM CT today.
A quick note on time zones, since this trips people up every November. All of Epic's ET times this season are now Eastern Standard Time, so subtract one hour for Central. 9 AM ET is 8 AM CT, 7 PM ET is 6 PM CT.
Crossbones Isle: The New Map
Crossbones Isle replaces the Override island and is built for 80-player matches. Epic hasn't explained the lobby size, but a smaller lobby on a treasure-hunting map usually means more time looting and less time getting third-partied the moment you land. The other big traversal feature is cannons: climb in and launch yourself across the island to reach fights fast.
Epic lists eleven named locations:
- The $.$. Rocky: A$AP Rocky's battleship. Challenge him as a Boss, then raid the deck for loot.
- Lantern Lanes: a maze of lantern-lit streets where you pick your exit route before another squad cuts you off.
- Baratie Bay: the floating restaurant from One Piece and the waterfront around it.
- Windmill Village: the seaside village from One Piece.
- Loguetown: a busy harbor town.
- Arlong Park: the fish-man stronghold from One Piece.
- Crew's Cove: a hidden cove with a ship beside a waterfall.
- Plunder Port: two docked ships worth clearing out.
- Fort Fortuna: a fortress with ramparts to search.
- Rubber Resort: a resort with a duck-shaped yacht. Epic says Miku and Teto take over "the Island's resort" in week 3.
- Captain's Cenote: a sinkhole pool at the top of a mountain.
The Big Change: Gold Bars Are Vaulted
If you only read one section, read this one. Epic's notes say Gold Bars have been vaulted in Battle Royale. The knock-on effects:
- Follower services are now free. Hiring the NPCs that fight alongside you no longer costs anything.
- Vending Machines have been removed. In Zero Build, the Pocket-O-Matics remain, with the Shockwave Grenade, Port-A-Bunker and Shield Bubble Jr. as available Pocket Items.
- Chests now refill over time, so you can come back and open the same chest again later. Epic's line is "the hunt never runs dry."
Golden Apple Changes
The Golden Apple got reworked at the same time:
- It now grants 40 Effective Health instead of 50 HP, with any healing beyond your max HP spilling over into your Shield.
- Its low-gravity effect lasts slightly longer.
- It shows up in Produce Boxes a little more often.
New Weapons and Items
The headline additions are the One Piece powers, but the regular weapons are what you will actually be fighting with most of the time. Here is everything Epic listed for launch:
How the One Piece Powers Fit In
The Gum-Gum Fruit and Flame-Flame Fruit transform you into Luffy and Ace, which puts them in the same category as other transformation items Fortnite has used in collab seasons. The Gum-Gum Fruit is the mobility pick, since its charged move sends you flying, while the Flame-Flame Fruit is more about sustained damage with a big finisher. Zoro's Three Sword Style is a close-range melee weapon with a dash to keep pressure on, and Usopp's Slingshot is the marksman option with heavy rounds.
Two items are flagged by Epic as non-Competitive only: A$AP Rocky's Shock Rocket and the Explosive Cannon Ball. If you play Ranked or tournaments, do not build your plan around either of them.
Unvaulted Weapons
Alongside the new gear, Epic unvaulted a solid core loot pool:
- Shotguns: Sentinel Pump Shotgun, Auto Shotgun
- Pistols: Flint-Knock Pistol, Sidearm Pistol
- SMGs: Machine SMG, Tactical SMG
- Rifles: Hammer Assault Rifle
- Utility: Zipline Deployer, Overdrive Grenade
- Consumables: Slurp Juice, Shield Fish, Jellyfish, Slurpfish, Hop Flopper, Spicy Fish
Captain's Days and the Weekly Schedule
Treasure Hunters is built around Captain's Days, when "all-new weapons, Sprites, and more drop on the map." Epic lists them for November 1, 7, 12, 14 and 21. Each week a new captain arrives with their own crew and POI. Here is the full calendar in Central Time:
Epic only printed an exact time for the first Captain's Day and for A$AP Rocky's Shop arrival. For the other dates, assume a similar morning drop but check in-game.
Today: A$AP Rocky
The first Captain's Day brings A$AP Rocky as the island's first Boss aboard The $.$. Rocky. Beat him and he can drop his Shock Rocket and the new Lil' Flacko Sprite, which creates a small shockwave when you land that knocks back opponents. Note the word "can." Neither drop is guaranteed.
Weeks 2 to 4
- Week 2, November 7: Lil Uzi Vert and Cuddle Team Leader claim a fort, while Buggy and the Megalodon crash onto the island. Epic promises new weapons and new Sprites.
- Week 3, November 14: Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto take over the resort with returning weapons and "a leek you can wield."
- Week 4, November 21: Oscar sails in with his own ship and the Frenzy Auto Shotgun.
Sprites Are Back, With a New Roster
Sprites carry over as a system into Treasure Hunters, with a new set of eleven to collect and more promised later. Here is what each one does, in Epic's words:
There are also variants. The Fortune Sprite reveals nearby chests, the Cursed Sprite raises your chance of finding rare variants but makes water damage you, and the Gold Sprite arrives on November 12 with bonus XP from eliminations.
Since Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters spawn "in bigger numbers" this season, the treasure loop is more central than before. The Exmarks Sprite is the obvious early target if you want to hunt efficiently, because it reveals nearby Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters and spawns a Treasure Map at max level. Chester is the comfort pick, extra chest loot plus no fall damage, which pairs nicely with cannon launches.
Mastery Monday and the Sprite Mastery Track
Mastery Monday returns, every Monday from 8 AM CT (9 AM ET), with 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust all day. The first one is tomorrow, November 2.
The Sprite Mastery Track is also back under the Treasure tab in the lobby, with a new page unlocking every week. Mastering Sprites earns Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks and other Gizmos. The Sprite Mastery Strongbox Back Bling upgrades as you progress, and mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator's Nosedive Umbrella.
Two quality of life changes make collecting easier: Sprites from this season now show in numbered order on the Sprites screen, and each Sprite carries a Sprite Stamp showing how you got it. The View Info screen explains what each stamp means. Epic also says the Sprites tab now loads significantly faster.
Battle Pass and Item Shop
The Battle Pass features Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin, plus new anime looks for Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte. If you gift the Battle Pass to a friend, you both get a bonus Dark Kawaii Team Leader Outfit style.
The rest of the One Piece crew is in the Item Shop on a staggered schedule:
- Luffy, Nami and Usopp: in the Shop from season launch
- A$AP Rocky: November 5 at 6 PM CT (7 PM ET)
- Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick: November 7
- Lil Uzi Vert: November 12
- Buggy: November 13
- Kasane Teto and Cap'n Hatsune Miku: November 14
New Ranked Season
A new Ranked Season starts in Battle Royale with these rewards:
- Gold: AHOY! Emoticon
- Platinum: By Order of Geno Loading Screen
- Diamond: This Must Be the Spot Spray
- Elite: Par-Rot Back Bling
- Unreal: Double-Duty Duelist Pickaxe
Fortnite Reload Changes
Reload got its own v43.00 notes. The headlines:
- Map rotation: Surf City returns alongside Nitemare Island and Squid Grounds. On November 12, Nitemare Island leaves and Springfield returns.
- The Hunt match modifier goes back to normal activation rates and stays until Nitemare Island leaves rotation.
- New in Reload: Zoro's Three Sword Style, Usopp's Slingshot, Bundlebuss Repeater Rifle, Gilded Dragoon Shotgun, Explosive Cannon Ball and Nami's Tangerine.
- Gold Bars vaulted here too. In Reload, that means Vending Machine and Pocket-O-Matic items are now free.
Reading the comments on Epic's post, Springfield's return on November 12 is not universally loved, since it had a whole Reload season recently. If you prefer the current rotation, play it before the 12th.
Bug Fixes and Performance
The v43.00 notes include a long fix list. The ones most players will notice:
- Fixed rebooting a teammate at a Reboot Van sometimes being interrupted and not completing
- Fixed matchmaking from inside a match sometimes disconnecting you
- Fixed parties getting stuck after everyone readied up while someone was still loading
- Fixed close-range bullet impact sounds only being audible when the shooter was very close
- PC: Dynamic 3D Resolution is now on by default for new installs and can now be used with DLSS. New installs on integrated graphics default to Performance mode
- Mobile: the Pocket Item now has its own slot in the HUD Layout Tool and several Android crashes are fixed
What to Do First in Treasure Hunters
If you are logging in today, here is a sensible order:
- Play the first Captain's Day from 8 AM CT. Try the A$AP Rocky Boss for the Shock Rocket and Lil' Flacko.
- Learn the cannons. Cannons are the season's main way to get around, and mastering where they drop you will matter more than any single weapon.
- Hunt Wanted Posters. Each one becomes a Sprite Treasure Map, and there are more of them this season.
- Prioritize Exmarks or Chester as your first Sprites to master.
- Save your Sprite grinding for Monday. Mastery Monday doubles Sprite XP and Dust from 8 AM CT, starting tomorrow.
- Keep any Map Fragments in mind. Epic is clearly building a weekly puzzle toward Captain X's chest and the December 5 finale.
Frequently Asked Questions
What time did Fortnite Treasure Hunters come out?
Epic's status page shows the v43.00 downtime ran from 05:00 to 08:12 UTC on November 1, 2026. In Central Time that is midnight to 2:12 AM CT, with the clocks falling back during the downtime. Treasure Hunters has been live since then, and the first Captain's Day started at 8 AM CT (9 AM ET).
Is Fortnite Treasure Hunters Chapter 8?
No. Treasure Hunters is a season within Chapter 7, following Override. Epic has told players to keep Saturday, December 5 open for the Chapter 7 end event, but it has not announced anything about Chapter 8 in the Treasure Hunters posts.
Why are there no Gold Bars in Fortnite right now?
Epic vaulted Gold Bars with v43.00. In Battle Royale, Follower services are now free, Vending Machines are removed, and Pocket-O-Matics remain only in Zero Build. In Reload, Vending Machine and Pocket-O-Matic items are now free. Chests in Battle Royale also refill over time, so looting matters more than farming currency this season.
How do you get A$AP Rocky's Shock Rocket?
Board The $.$. Rocky, A$AP Rocky's battleship POI on Crossbones Isle, and beat him as a Boss. Epic says he can drop his Shock Rocket and the new Lil' Flacko Sprite, so it is not guaranteed every kill. The Shock Rocket is only available outside Competitive playlists. His Outfit arrives in the Item Shop on November 5 at 6 PM CT.
When do Zoro, Lil Uzi Vert, Miku and Teto arrive in Fortnite?
In Battle Royale, Lil Uzi Vert and Buggy arrive on November 7, Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto on November 14, and Oscar on November 21. In the Item Shop, Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick arrive November 7, Lil Uzi Vert November 12, Buggy November 13, and Kasane Teto and Cap'n Hatsune Miku November 14.
Can you get the Zoro skin for free in Fortnite?
Yes, if you place well in competition. Top regional performers in the One Piece: Zoro Cup on November 6 can earn the Roronoa Zoro Outfit and accessories, and the One Piece: Buggy Cup on November 13 awards the Buggy Outfit. Eligible countries also get a Fortnite x One Piece: Treasure Box. Everyone else can buy Zoro in the Item Shop from November 7.
What is in the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass?
Epic says the Battle Pass features Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin from One Piece, plus new anime looks for Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte. Gifting the Battle Pass to a friend gives both of you a bonus Dark Kawaii Team Leader Outfit style. Luffy, Nami and Usopp are sold separately in the Item Shop.
Do my old Sprites carry over into Treasure Hunters?
The Sprite system continues with eleven new Sprites, new variants and the Sprite Mastery Track under the Treasure tab. Epic's notes focus on the new roster and say this season's Sprites can be viewed in numbered order, but they do not spell out how Override's Sprites behave in Treasure Hunters matches. Check your Sprite collection in the lobby to see what is available to you.
