RuneScape Havenhythe Part II Guide: Fenmoor, Exalted Quarry & Heralds of Crimson (Sept 28)
QUICK ANSWER · Havenhythe Part II · Sept 28, 2026
• Live now: Havenhythe Part II shipped for RuneScape members on September 28, 2026.
• New regions: Misty Boglands of Fenmoor, mining town Heathervein, and the Exalted Quarry.
• Story quest: Heralds of Crimson (requires Secrets of Amberfell + 55 Herblore / 51 Crafting / 65 Mining / 60 Smithing).
• Next boss: Ghrazi Blood Knights duo encounter arrives October 12 after you finish Heralds of Crimson.
• Skilling pillars: Petrified Woodcutting + Totem Fletching in Fenmoor; Essence mining / Exalted Essence Runecrafting; Colossi memory Divination.

The bridge east of Amberfell is finally open. On Monday, September 28, 2026, Jagex shipped Havenhythe Part II for RuneScape members, unlocking the rest of the island that Part I only teased: mist-soaked boglands, a quarry that feeds Runecrafting in a new way, Sanguine-twisted Slayer targets, and the story chapter that sets up October's duo boss.

This guide is the day-one player checklist. It sticks to what Jagex published in the Havenhythe Part II out-now news post and the deeper Journey into the East blog, with press context from TheGamer's launch write-up and Massively OP. If you already finished Secrets of Amberfell and have been camping Wendlewick waiting for the east road, start with the quest requirements, then pick a skilling lane.

What launched today

Havenhythe first arrived earlier in 2026 as a new landmass east of Morytania. Part I gave you Amberfell, Wendlewick, early Sanguine contact, and the feeling that half the island was still locked behind fog. Part II is the unlock:

  • Story continuation through Heralds of Crimson, pushing toward Shuruk-Ba and The Crimson Throne
  • Fenmoor, home of the Bogolins and petrified-tree Woodcutting / Totem Fletching
  • Heathervein and the Exalted Quarry for Mining, Crafting, and a lower-intensity Runecrafting path
  • Active Divination around Colossi memories and murals
  • New Slayer threats: Sanguine Bogolins, Sanguine Werewolves, and Ravenous Strigoi
  • A Havensilver damage rework that removes the old penalty for using other styles against Havensilver-weak targets
  • A hard date to finish the quest before the Ghrazi Blood Knights duo boss on October 12
Jagex and press have called Havenhythe the largest area expansion in RuneScape's history. Whether you care about that framing or not, the practical takeaway is simple: Part II is not a tiny weekly patch. Plan a real session, not a fifteen-minute login.

Quest first: Heralds of Crimson

If you only do one thing on launch day, start the story. Inanna's visions of Wendlewick's fall are the narrative engine. Heralds of Crimson leads you through the new eastern regions and toward an ending in Shuruk-Ba. Jagex is clear that this is a season finale for the Havenhythe-set Sanguine arc, not the end of the Sanguine threat forever. The Ghrazi Blood Knights still get their formal introduction, and the October 12 duo boss is the combat bill that comes due after the quest.

Requirements

  • Complete Secrets of Amberfell
  • 55 Herblore
  • 51 Crafting
  • 65 Mining
  • 60 Smithing
Those numbers match across Jagex's Journey blog and secondary reporting. If you are short on Mining or Smithing, train those before you expect a clean quest start. The Exalted Quarry content also sits on the Mining / Crafting ladder, so the same prep pays twice.

Why finish before October 12

Jagex's out-now post is blunt: to challenge the Ghrazi Blood Knights, you need Heralds of Crimson done first. The duo-only boss lands October 12. Treat the next two weeks as a soft deadline for story completion if you want first-week boss access, sigil prep, and whatever drop economy forms around the fight. You can still explore Fenmoor and the quarry without rushing, but the quest gate is not optional for the boss.

Fenmoor and the Bogolins

East of Amberfell, the ground gets wet. Fenmoor is the damp home of the Bogolins, semi-aquatic cousins of goblins who fish, chop petrified trees, and build totems to keep their Sanguine-touched relatives at bay. They are generally friendly and nervous rather than aggressive, which makes Fenmoor a skilling hub first and a combat zone second.

Petrified Woodcutting ladder

Chop petrified trees for Roots, Bark, and Wood. Bigger resources unlock with Woodcutting level:

WoodcuttingResource
65Petrified Roots
85Petrified Bark
105Petrified Wood

There is a deposit point in the glade if you only want Woodcutting XP and banked materials. Higher-tier resources also push Totem progress faster when you convert them.

Totem Fletching

Bring your haul to the center of the glade and build Bogolin Totems. Any gathered petrified resource can contribute; Fletching XP is tied to the totem you choose:

FletchingTotem
65Toad Totem
85Mollusc Totem
105Elemental Totem

Finished totems get hauled off by Bogolins to ward against their Sanguine cousins, and you get reward bundles. Notable chase pieces Jagex lists:

  • Fenshell Knife, a new Fletching main-hand
  • Bogolin Stick, used to create a new mid-level Magic staff
  • Bogolin Sogtorch, which boosts Woodcutting success (stronger inside Fenmoor)
Press coverage also flags Bogolin Pearls, Chima Moss Spools, and an ultra-rare best-in-slot hatchet chase tied to the expansion's reward table. Treat those as high-value targets once you are looping the glade, and re-check the in-game drop / exchange interfaces for exact rates.

Friendly Bogolins vs Globin's problem

Meet leader Waterface on the friendly side. The Sanguine Bogolins of Globin, led by Bloodnose, are the less hospitable cousins. Community preview material also points at farming patches you can unlock by dealing with that story branch. If you are an iron or a farmer who lives for new patches, prioritize that detour after the main Woodcutting loop.

Heathervein and the Exalted Quarry

Heathervein is the mining settlement built around Havenhythe's strangest dig site: the Exalted Quarry. Something ancient sits under the rock. The practical loop is simpler. Mine Essence Lumps, Chunks, and Slabs, then process them into Rune Essence with Crafting.

MiningResourceCrafting to process
65Essence Lumps51
85Essence Chunks71
105Essence Slabs91

You can trade finds in for a reduced return if you do not want to process everything yourself. While you work the quarry you can also gather Exalted Essence, which supports a less click-intensive Runecrafting method at supported altars. Jagex is explicit that this is not a replacement for traditional Runecrafting. It is a second lane for players who want lower intensity.

Colossi memories and Divination

Havenhythe's Colossi left marks across the island. With 77 Divination and partial progress in Heralds of Crimson, talk to Aurriel at the Divine Fall. You gather memories into a Memory Stone, attune it to a mural somewhere on Havenhythe, then travel to return those memories. Rewards include Divination XP, Remnant Energy, and Agility XP from the travel loop.

This is designed as an active Divination method. You are rewarded for moving between memory sites and murals instead of camping one spot. Stick with it for hidden Colossi lore and an item that can speed the activity up. Remnant Energy also matters later for Sigil Codices built from Slayer drops.

New Slayer threats and the Havensilver change

The Sanguine corruption is not just story flavor. Three combat packs land with Part II:

Sanguine Bogolins

No Slayer requirement. Decent XP if you can handle their explosive habits. Drop Crimson Ichor and can drop the Fen-Orb, which upgrades the Bogolin Earthborne Staff to tier 78.

Sanguine Werewolves

Former people of Berylbrook, now twisted hunters using bleed and Sanguine pressure. No requirement to fight them open-world, but 72 Slayer is needed before they can be assigned as a task.

Ravenous Strigoi

Vampyric arrivals from Vampyrium. 104 Slayer to engage. Chase the Nightblood Ring, a Ranged crossbow ring that increases enchanted bolt activation chance.

All three drop Crimson Ichor. Combine Ichor with Remnant Energy for new Sigil Codices:

  • Sanguine Offering Codex
  • Vampyre Slayer Codex
  • Vital Drain Codex
Jagex suggests getting comfortable with those before the Blood Knights arrive. Dust off Anti-Sanguine Potions and Havensilver weapons.

Havensilver rework

Previously, creatures weak to Havensilver took 50% reduced damage from other sources. That penalty is gone. Havensilver now deals 50% increased damage against Sanguine creatures instead. You can clear content in your normal gear, but bringing the right tools is a real advantage rather than a soft requirement.

Extra island content worth wandering for

Beyond the headline loops, eastern Havenhythe also adds:

  • Three additional Woodcutting tree types
  • Two new Fishing spots
  • New Farming patches and seeds
  • An additional Bloodwood Tree location
  • Pieces of a strange old painting scattered for players to notice
There is also press mention of a standalone Bangolin quest as a lighter side adventure away from the main Sanguine climax. Use it as a palate cleanser between story and grind sessions once you see the quest start in-game.

Day-one route that does not waste hours

  • Confirm membership and log into a stable world.
  • Finish or reclaim Secrets of Amberfell if you somehow skipped it.
  • Check Herblore / Crafting / Mining / Smithing against the quest gate; train the shortfalls first.
  • Start Heralds of Crimson and push until Fenmoor and Heathervein unlock naturally.
  • Pick one skilling lane for the rest of the session: Fenmoor Woodcutting / Totems, Exalted Quarry, or Colossi Divination.
  • Kill a few Sanguine Bogolins or Werewolves to learn the new Havensilver feel and bank early Ichor.
  • Bookmark October 12 for Blood Knights prep and keep the quest moving across the next two weeks.
If you are a completionist, leave painting pieces and side skilling for a second login. The story deadline is the only hard calendar pressure this week besides RuneFest on October 3–4.

RuneFest, livestreams, and nearby calendar noise

Jagex's weekly post also reminds players that RuneFest returns October 3–4, with a Twitch livestream on October 3 from Twitch.tv/RuneScape (2pm BST / 1pm UTC / 9am ET / 6am PT). There is a behind-the-scenes Havenhythe Part II stream on Thursday, October 1 at 15:00 game time with Mods Yuey, Blkwitch, Sponge, and Rowley. Use those if you want developer context after you have already touched the content yourself.

MTX item removal planning still points at November 23, 2026 as the use-it-or-lose-it date for listed items. That is separate from Havenhythe, but it is the other big systems clock hanging over autumn RuneScape. Do not let bank-clean anxiety steal your first Fenmoor evening unless you were already mid-cleanup.

Who this update is for

Quest and lore players get the eastward story push and a named finale location. Skillers get three distinct methods with clear 65 / 85 / 105 ladders. Slayers get new assignments, a Havensilver buff that feels good to play around, and sigil crafting that foreshadows the duo boss. Mid-level members who cleared Part I but stalled on Mining or Smithing should treat those as the real unlocks before the cinematic beats.

Soft note for AccountShark readers who rotate members accounts across big content drops: Part II rewards membership and story progress more than a brand-new free-to-play lane. If your goal is experiencing Heralds of Crimson and the Fenmoor loops on day one, a ready members profile with Secrets of Amberfell done beats a fresh tutorial slog.
