What Are the Rarest Mounts in FFXIV?
Trial mount drops are notoriously low rate. Completing content 99 times without a drop triggers a guaranteed drop on attempt 100 (the "Lucky 100" system added in Dawntrail).
The 'Lucky 100' system: Since Endwalker, trials with mount drops guarantee the drop on the 100th clear. This capped the worst-case farm at 100 runs — a relief for 1/1000+ rate mounts. Most players farm content 30-50 times expecting a drop before they need to approach 100.
How Long Does It Take to Get a Trial Mount?
Average farming time per mount:
- 1/50 drop rate (most EX trials): 50 clears × 5 min = 4 hours
- 1/100 rate: 100 clears × 5 min = 8 hours
- Lucky 100 guaranteed: 100 clears = 8 hours guaranteed

The account-value reality: An FFXIV account with Collector's Edition items, Lodestone event rewards, and completed Ultimates is genuinely rare — you cannot reconstruct that collection on a fresh account. This is why older FFXIV characters hold significant value on account marketplaces.
